As I tell my kids all the time, he’s still the best player on the game. It’s a joke that he doesn’t play origin.

Agreed. What proves it is the media obsession to compare Edwards to Teddy as opposed to mentioning Edwards 4 comps or his own attributes. It’s always “is he playing better than Teddy”, “how will Teddy respond?”.

He is a bonafide champion of the game and a legend of this club. His worst game is a 7/10. Selfishly as an Easts fan I hope they don’t pick him this year so we can get all the value out of him and rack the wins up over Origin.

If Edwards played for any other team he would be barely recognised
he makes mts a game but does not contribute ball playing or X factor and also makes a couple of errors a game dropping the off easy bomb which every time the commentators say you will never see that again
and he does it the following

on form the last 2 years Teddy should be the nsw 1

But selfishly happy he may not be

Still too early to say he surpasses Mini, but they are the 2 best fullbacks that I’ve seen at Easts, and possibly NSW and Australia (along with Slater, Eadie and potentially Edwards).
I love Mini but I think Tedesco surpasses him since Mini was cut down in his prime with injuries and wasn't the same player he was when he finally returned in the back end of his career whereas Teddy spent a good 4 or so years as genuinely the best player in the entire league. Darren Lockyer was a great fullback too

Russell Fairfax was special ! Though I'm sure he didn't have Teddy's longevity and of course 'The Count' when you're talking East's best fullbacks. I hope they pick Edwards for origin for selfish Roosters reasons but Teddy deserves it . And he looks younger than Dylan Edwards too

Glad he’s playing for us instead of originally.

I have no doubt that Teddy has surpassed Mini. He did that some time ago.

yeah, teddy would push mini to wing in the best roosters team of this century.
tbh you could make a case he's been the best full back in the nrl this century. maybe doesn't have the spectacular plays of slater but is more consistent and a better defender.

Teddy has a Dally M medal, Dally M runner up by 1 point last year, Australian and NSW captain for a few years ago he's been elite for us from day 1. I love The Count though and he's probably still in my NRL era roosters team just on principle of 300+ game one club player but Teddy is the better player.

They'll pick him not because he deserves it, but because it will further undermine the team's semi final chances.

Strongly disagree. His games never fall below 8.5. Teddy is like having an extra 2 players in the team. He’s a super legend of the game. Even at his age no one comes near him.

Really happy to see him firing, think he’s got the balance of his game on point as well this year. Not getting too involved with the ball playing but still getting his hands on the ball plenty and taking lots of threatening carries.

Can we just try 1 game with longer studs though? I reckon he’d have about 6 linebreaks.

Let’s hope they pick some other inferior player because none can rival him. Losing him to waste of time Origin would be a severe blow to the team. He’s irreplaceable.

Teddy is the true spirit of Rugby League. A hall of fame legend. Mr 500%. When he does retire I hope he has a coaching role at Easts.

Very true re the balance of not getting into the trap of overplaying his game. Still incredibly involved but not so much so that it is predictable hence reducing his effectiveness. He’s in a real sweet spot lately. On his last two years of form at club level I wouldn’t swap him for anyone if we ignore the fact that he’s 32.
