Two things in regard to the bolded part of what you said, firstly his Jap RU contract will be finished before the season 2013 starts, so he will miss the entire pre-season basically & none of the official season, which I don't overly object to, mainly because the $1m or so he gets from Panasonic basically allows us to sign him! He knows he can get more money on the open market than what Easts will be paying him, so if he wants to play for us he needs to top up his earnings with some easy RU cash & the odd cruisy boxing match, it also increases his exposure to non RL audiences, therefore increasing his international earning potential with his advertising campaigns that he does. Why do you care if he boxes or makes easy money before starting with us? I don't really get the negativity about Sonny, as long as the circus doesn't accompany him, then I couldn't care less how he tops up the coffers! He'll look awesome in the RW&B & sponsors, once again will be breaking out the cheque books to be associated with our great club!!

Hey it's not ideal, but it's not like missing a pre-season through injury, he'll be fit enough with his own training regime, the man is a fitness freak & a pretty amazing physical specimen! In regard to gelling with team mates, I really don't think he'd be a chance of just being one of the boys anyway, he'll be a follow me type of player, so the young islander lads will be more than happy to just be on the same field with him, he'll be more of a big brother or uncle figure to them than an equal peer that they'll need to bond with, just my opinion, but after yesterday, we need something!!

Didn't the governing body take away some boxer's title recently because of the poor standard of opponents he was fighting?
One day he's gonna meet his match.
