Why not? You'd be fine with a handful of flower to help you find the wet spot!

In regard to gelling with team mates, I really don't think he'd be a chance of just being one of the boys anyway, he'll be a follow me type of player, so the young islander lads will be more than happy to just be on the same field with him, he'll be more of a big brother or uncle figure to them than an equal peer that they'll need to bond with, just my opinion, but after yesterday, we need something!!
            Arty,
I'm in your corner - i agree we need a marquee player with his capabilities as well as Sonny's leadership qualities. However, the latest media reports (even if slightly true) have me slightly worried. It's been suggested during contract neg's that Team SBW are demanding he be allowed time off during the footy season to train & prepare for title fight/s. This unfortunately could cause unrest amongst the team??

I havent watched union well, ever, it doesnt interest me, so i wouldnt know how SBW is going lately. But, when he last played league, and wasnt injured he was near unstoppable. We need someone like that, but we also need a half who has a clue. Pearce is useless, I really hope Maloney brings something to this club, someone who can direct a side around the park and who actually has a kicking game.

The mighty blacks let him fight, the 60-nil result smacks of unrest I guess

Can't compare a near unstoppable AB's team to a pack of nuffs from Ireland. Sonny is surrounded by some pretty damn good role players.

He has has a full pre-season at the chiefs - yes ? It is a team sport at the end of the day - you cannot just pass your superstar the ball and expect him to create at will. Doesn't happen. It's as though everyone expects that Sonny will create opportunities with every touch.

Easy or not, he would of played a short season of union in Japan - it's not exactly touch football(although rugger is easier on the body), his body is bound to cop some knocks. Then he will just join the Roosters and begin a grueling 26 round schedule. Talk about a recipe for disaster. Then he can leave in a year if he pleases. So much for building a team.

The more you think about it, the more it stinks.

Unless he comes here on a 2-3 year deal, he can fark right off. I don't care about boxing, he can box and train outside of our football schedule all he wants. However, when outlying close to a quarter of your cap on a single player, you'd sure as hell want him to focus on your team.

I don't care what he is worth and whether we can really afford his worth without subsidising payments with Japanese Rugby, if we can't afford a player that will play for the whole season then we may as well look elsewhere.

Note: i did not even begin to go into the media frenzy which will happen every time this bloke sneezes. You thought Carney was bad !

The one year deal will simply allow him to play Jap Rugby in the off season if he wishes.
Benji tryed to go and play Rugby in Japan in our off season several years ago,but was stopped by the NRL because of a clause in his NRL registered contract...

if we dont spend the money on sbw, we will just blow it on nuffies like jcarney, symonds,a mitchell, watts, and co. Are people happier signing people like that or signing sbw?

On another note, did we release ashley harrison mid contract too? I honestly cant remember what he contributed or the conditions on why he left?
