I guess I'm yet to get over 2014.

Given the way we played last week if we could maintain that you'd expect us to win upcoming games against Penrith, Dragons, Dolphins and maybe the Sharks. We would go in as underdogs against Canberra and the Bulldogs.

Sam would be due back on June 14th against the Knights I imagine and then as Sam eases back in we have games against Cowboys, Tigers and Dragons which are certainly winnable, Brandon Smith would return around this time as well so we'd have a pretty strong side at that point as long as we remain injury free.

Certainly early days, and I don’t say this most seasons, but it’s tough seeing anyone beat the Storm at the pointy end of the season. Bulldogs and Canberra are good, but unless the Broncos really start firing, I think the Storm may win the comp in a canter. They look miles ahead of everyone, their roster is unbelievable and I don’t know if any team is able to handle their style. They play at breakneck pace.

You know what….we are only two points out of the 8. Had a lot of haters saying Roosters wouldn’t make the semis even before the season started. I think this team can get there and make them eat just a small piece of humble pie.

You are getting way ahead of yourself.
Lets just see if we can beat Penrith who are due for a win.

one game at a time is good. play the best footy possible and with a bit of luck we'll go alright. but yeah, the team has played with a lot of spirit so far this year

To be fair, they straight up look like the worst team in the comp bar Parramatta, and it has been for a month now. They don’t even have any injury excuses.

                    Am I?

Penrith are running second last and have been awful, St George are only ahead of us because of the bye, the Dolphins struggled as badly as we did and Cronulla are 3-3 but definitely beatable. These are games that we can expect our team to beat, it isn't like I'm expecting them to do Melbourne 13+ in Melbourne or something.

I've watched the Chooks for over 40 years.

And I can only remember two successful rebuilding seasons.

One under Grahame Murray around 2000 where Mini, Hegarty, Ryan Cross, maybe Todd Byrne got blooded.

Another was the 2016 when Robbo gave Latrell and Manu their crack.

Hopefully we're in another one. Time will tell.

Obviously the other major factor is astute buys to balance the experience levels. Carney, Sonny, Cooper, Fargo were beauties. But I've seen many, many more duds in that department - Mason, O'Meally, Anasta, Cheese...While I respect him 100%, Dally Cherry Evans doesn't feel right. He'd be better off going to the Dolphins.

If Teddy retires after 2027, you'd think the blue-chip signing would be Ponga.

But who knows Mark N could turn into a gun fullback. He's got the skills.

After seing ponga dive to the ground rather than take a tackle against the tigers on the last set was enough for me to say no thanks.

I thought the Souths game showed we had real steel. We blew it, sure, but we outmuscled them in that first half with zero ball. We were gritty.

The Broncs game blew me away. A fantastic team win. Brissy are absolutely stacked with talent and we were so solid. Youngsters against a team of stars.

Robbo's punt on crazy eyed Savala and his persistent confidence in Sandon Smith gives me hope that perhaps finally he'll groom some halves.

Still not expecting us to challenge the competition in any serious way, but we are going to build a very solid foundation for the future.

I thought the season was going to be diabolical but I think I'm already wrong about that.

                              Good work Robbo.
IMO once the season matures and we get some players back we'll hit a point where we're at least consistently better than:
                              - Eels
                              - Dolphins
                              - Titans
                              - Dragons
                              - Cows
                              - Souffs
                              - Warriors
                              - Knights
                              - Tigpies
                              - Manly
                              - Sharks

IDK where the Riff are heading but if we beat them (noting they are 2nd last and may well have hit a brick wall this season), the Dragons and the Dolphins then we're suddenly heading into a round 10 bye with 5 from 9 and a bye making our points the equivalent of 6 from 10.

Not saying it's a certainty but with the Riff beating us we still the equivalent of 5 from 10 on the ladder with reinforcements on their way. The season's definitely not over and the top 8 is still possible without using too much creativity.

I don’t mind losing to the better side on the day but not to poor roster selections and tactics which Robbo is responsible for. Had he played Hugo earlier instead of Townsend we might have won more games? He’s accountable for some things and deserves criticism when he stuffs up and praise when he gets it right. So I think it’s healthy that he’s held accountable. He should be scored for each match win or lose.
