I never gave up on him.
He's big, strong, fast...and when I saw him run thru the right side of an opposition team to score a great try I said to myself:
"I hope we keep him, he's something special".

I wouldn’t be surprised if Billy is in the origin centre conversation at the selection committee table. Not saying he will be picked as there is a few that are ahead of him in Mitchell, Turbo and Best but if he continues his form he’d be discussed. So pleased to see him performing the way he has. Now a bit of luck with injuries and he will be a rep player for sure. I know he hasn’t played a lot but when he has he has been class ever since his debut against the dragons years ago.

On one hand, 2-4 isn't ideal and we conceded 50 in one of those.

On the other hand, we should be 5-1 and have been in every game bar round 1 up to our eyeballs. We've had huge player turnover and the young guys are looking good. We also have some big names coming back later in the season.

The other thing to note is that the majority of other teams look very inconsistent/average. The Storm and Bulldogs are strong, and Raiders look great sometimes. Everyone else is dubious. The Chooks of last night would have fairly comfortably beaten the Bunnies or Cowboys today, based on how they played.

There are still some ways this season could go really positively, especially if we win our next few games going into the bye and Walker/Smith find good form upon their return.

Doggies being on top of the ladder is a false dawn.
They beat cronulla who are out of the eight but they have played every team in the bottom half of the ladder plus a bye.

whereas we have played broncos twice, soon to be panthers twice and every other game excluding titans are teams currently in the 8.

Regardless I think the Dogs finish top 4 - defence is good.

You back on the Cheech and Chongs?...I still think we will experience plenty of heartbreak ..until Walker and Cheese come back and it's a big if by the sounds of things. The young bloods are going well win or lose.
Beating the Riff and the Merge on Anzac day would be massive and the kind of confidence the team needs to keep the fire burning.

They're a very good side regardless of who they have played.
They've won every game with top players which brings confidence.
If the Storm & Broncos fall over they would be my next contender for the comp.
Their defence & defensive structure are top notch.
              Canberra after them.

I reckon we're one of the fittest teams this season and the Bulldogs.

We would've pumped Souffs with a capable halfback. I'm still not over it!

We are definitely fitter than previous seasons. There is a steel I haven’t seen for a few years. Execution and errors are our downfall.

What is everyone seeing to say we are fitter? We have faded in the second half in three games we should have won?

Oh yeah we're definitely going to lose plenty, don't get me wrong. Doubt we'll make the 8. But positive sights are there.

yeah, keep the good spirit we've shown so far this year, develop the youngsters and we'll go alright. this year is probably a tough ask but we look like we're heading in the right direction
