  • Chooks ladder prediction, rounds 7-12

    Current Position: 15th - Won 2, Lost 4

A tough start to the 2025 season suffering a blowout defeat to the Broncos, the side managed just two wins against the more fancied opponents, Panthers and squaring the ledger against the Broncos. The three other losses were in amongst it for 60 mins before falling away.

The next six rounds leading into the first Origin doesn’t get any easier. They consist of a bye and a few home games that are being played away from Moore Park.

We should go on a bit of roll the next month with our next loss against the Bulldogs.
    Cronulla is a 50/50 game.

I think we can reasonably expect to beat Penrith, Dragons and the Dolphins. The Dogs will be too strong for us.

Sharks during the Origin round would likely go their way also. I don't see any of their players getting picked for Origin whilst we'll definitely be without Crichton, Watson and potentially Tedesco, Leniu and Collins as well.

I've gone with Dragons, Dolphins and Sharks for wins giving us 8 points in this stretch. We really could beat Penrith this week but I still haven't quite got them written off yet they still have a lot of class and could turn it on at any moment.

IF we get a roll on I can see us beating the Dogs I'm not sold on how good they are and the Sharks have been pretenders for years we'll be missing players but I won't back against us to lose to the Sharks. Getting wins is important but we really need to put some scores on some of these teams to claw back our disastrous points differential that's going to keep us out of the 8 if we are in contention late in the year.

I can't see us winning more than 3 of these. I'm simply not expecting consistency from us just yet. Too many combo changes so far. Once we settle on a spine combination and they can string half a dozen games or so together I think we will start to see more consistent performances. I'm starting to look forward to the 2nd half of the season after being quite pessimistic about our chances this year.

I don't fully grasp these polls granted, but do we have 8 voters with only 6 saying we will win the bye?

If after 7 rounds in a rebuilding season our only 3 wins have been Penrith twice , broncos once I'd say the truth can be stranger then fiction.

I just hope we beat Penrith this week end.

We should be on 12 points by the end of round 12.

The Bulldogs game should be a cracker!

Unlike me to be optimistic, but I've got Easts collecting points in the next 4 matches and then dropping the next 2 games.

No doubt I'll be horribly wrong.

A lot depends on our defense, errors and penalties. Apart from the first game, we were leading and the better side but because of errors and penalties were beaten. So it’s a toss up but I believe we have the team to win all these matches if we have good discipline.
