  • Team v Riff

Think Waylander has been doing this but not done yet so thought I’d jump in.

    Roosters Team:

    1. James Tedesco
    2. Daniel Tupou
    3. Mark Nawaqanitawase
    4. Robert Toia
    5. Dominic Young
    6. Sandon Smith
    7. Hugo Savala
    8. Nat Butcher
    9. Connor Watson
    10. Naufahu Whyte
    11. Angus Crichton
    12. Siua Wong
    13. Victor Radley
    14. Zach Dockar-Clay
    15. Salesi Foketi
    16. Blake Steep
    17. Spencer Leniu
    18. Ethan King
    19. Makahesi Makatoa
    20. Chad Townsend
    21. Tom Rodwell
    22. Taylor Losalu

No surprises as Billy suspended Marky Mark in as a straight swap. Rads to start instead of Foketi.

Think I would like to see Losalu come in instead of Steep to provide more up front grunt.

Panthers are favorites with the bookies.

Would agree, I think Losalu would be more useful in this specific game. He also absolutely carved tham last time.

To be honest, I really preferred starting Foketi last week, and injecting Rads and Leniu around the same time. Still, good looking side though.

It is time to win on our home turf in 2025 for f's sake.

Agree with the above comments. Start with Foketi again.

It is time for Toia to start showing some glimpses of brillance with ball in hand - like he did for our first try against the ponies in round 1.

The Panthers have a back rower in the centres.

Keen for a big score against them. We owe them plenty.

        Go the mighty R W and B.

Great performance from the boys last week! Savala was impressive in his first start in the halves, really showed how crucial it is having a long kicking game in the side. A shame about Billy Smith being suspended especially after his great performance and really showed he belongs starting when fit.

Good to see Nawaqanitawase back in the side but it will be intresting to see what happens next week on who starts among Dom/Nawaqanitawase/Billy Smith. Was excited to see Losalu get a full time deal and hopefully gets a spot in the side soon. Would have loved to see him this week especially after the last meeting against the Riff.

I wouldn't take Penrith lightly despite the last performance against them on top of their current form, especially with this season showing that any result is possible for any side. Hopefully the boys back up that performance from Suncorp and to start building momentum especially heading into Anzac Day!

Just hoping we get some consistency and having high completions.

The rest will take care of itself.

With Foketi and Leniu already on the bench I don't mind Steep for some balance. I appreciate Steep is still finding his feet as a ball carrier especially with his one off the ruck hit ups but his defence has been superb so far and he has a great workrate.

As fun as Foketi, Leniu and Losalu would be off the bench it only works if we're on top.

Only way you drop Steep IMO is if you start Foketi and drop Crichton or Radley back to the bench then I think you could arguably bring Losalu in as Radley and Crichton give you a little more workrate in defence.

That Billy Smith misses a game for that tackle, is a disgrace.

Foketi needs to start, gives great energy off the 1st 20

Agree. Gives us a lot of punch off the bench.

                      9. Mitch Kenny
                      10. Lindsay Smith
                      11. Scott Sorensen
                      12. Liam Martin

                      18. Daine Laurie 19. Luron Patea 20. Mavrik Geyer 21. Luke Sommerton 22. Jack Cole

Panthers team news: Mitch Kenny (shoulder) returns at dummy-half, pushing Luke Sommerton out of the side. Blaize Talagi retains his spot at five-eighth, while Izack Tago has been dropped to the bench and Luke Garner starts at centre.

Yes this exactly we completed at roughly 80% last week if we can keep it to this standard we should be able to pull this off again.

                            We will pump Penrith.

                            Roosters 18 plus.

Watson only had to make 29 tackles last week. Could be a very different game this week and we need cover at dummy half if he gets tired or injured.
