WOW. Assuming Sammy will be back in 7-8 weeks I would have thought that Rodwell will be held back for another year and Hugo and Smith used for the rest of the year partnering Sammy.

Unless the plans for Sandon have changed or Sammy won't be ready for longer than expected.

Experienced coaches normally blood them for a few games and then drop them back so, as you say, between now and when Walker returns would be an ideal opportunity.
