I went and watched reserve grade today at Mascot Oval. Was an uninspired performance. I thought the two front rowers Makatoa and Xavier Va’a were our best. Nobody else stood out to me. Egan Butcher came off the bench and it looked like he had a good hit out.

Politis and Robbo were there. Also saw the other Va’a, Angus, Sam Walker and Nat Butcher. Va’a said he’s 6-8 weeks away from playing. Walker said he’ll be back in 6 weeks.

So far except for game one all our losses were us beating ourselves. We have a great team with discipline.

Yeah- thats what I have been thinking this season. Anyone can win the premiership.

Roosters have been paying $51 to win the comp on Sportsbet, so I thought Id back them with a little punt.

Its one of the most even comps as far as results go , with plenty of upsets each round- sometimes you can get odds of $3, $4 or $5 , on matches that might be pretty close.

At halftime in the Storm vs Dolphins game, Phins were 4 points behind, and right in the contest.

I thought it might be worth a few bucks on the Phins at $5.40 - turned out to be a pretty smart decision......

24 hr update. Gus has picked up a groin injury and is out unfortunately. Don’t know how bad. Foketi takes his spot in the starting 13 and Taylor Losalu joins the bench.

Gus a big out but at least we get to see more of two exciting prospects in Foketi and Losalu.

Hasn’t Toby only played 2 NSW cup games? Pretty sure in those he has 0 ts. I know stats don’t tell the whole story but i think we need to settled down and take it slow with him, even if he has big wraps from credible people. There is no evidence he would come in and add more value than Sandon yet, perhaps other than general kicking.

Saying that; I’d rather throw Toby in over The Chad again.

Sorry by sticking with Sandon at 5/8 is like driving up a one way street, to me sandon is a halfback filling in at 5/8 sandon is in at 5/8 till we find or purchase that certain player.

I think Rodwell will surprise you if he's given that opportunity. The big difference between Sandon and Toby is the way they approach the game. Toby backs himself all the way! Sandon is timid and lacks the confidence required to play in the halves. You can see that Sandon is often in 2 minds before he makes a poor decision. Rodwell is all in! If it sticks then great if it doesn't then he won't move away from his natural attacking game.

It's the perfect year to give him a run as we're rebuilding and there's is no real pressure plus Sammy is out injured.

I'd play Savala at 7 with Rodwell at 6.

NSW Cup could help Sandon find his confidence.

Agree with you Bates up to which position Roswell should play,watching the kid in the lower grades he is a halfback through and through the only thing is with Sammy coming back his chances
of playing halfback decreases would be a good idea to show the kid we are still looking to him in the future, to many clubs are throwing money around for stock standard halfs. at the moment.

Donkeys went down again today. Comp this early seems pretty open with the Dogs the only consistent side.
Not sure if they faced a top 4 side yet but we'll see.
