  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Panthers

That Round 2 win doesn’t hold as much weight now and Penrith’s aura of invincibility is fading. But that only makes this clash more important. It’s about momentum, belief, and proving that last week wasn't a one-off.

Attitude has to be our weapon. No team spirit, no win, it’s that simple. We may not have the best roster right now, but play with heart, hustle, cohesion and cut down the mistakes and I think we can beat anyone.

Beat Penrith twice in one season? That’s a statement we probably didn’t expect at the beginning of the season. And what a launchpad it would be for the rest of the year.

Bring the heat from kick-off. Let’s give it to these bogan westies, wipe the smiles off their faces and send them and their fans packing. No mercy!

    Kick-off 730pm.

    Go Roosters!

Just hope we don't play them into form.Obviously their left side is their weekness .Ours is we can play stupid a lot.Control the game and we should be right.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Will be satisfying to beat them with no Collins and Angus.

Could be a tough night for Sandon with Crichton out and Liam Martin breathing down his neck. While Foketi tracks very well in defence and has the killer attitude, he may be required to play 80.

On the flip side, Penriths right edge has been getting torn to shreds so Sandon could be in for a day out with Billy in good form.

you'd figure panthers are one game away from returning to form but we'll be in there fighting. if we keep up the good work in defence we'll go close. looking to marky to create a bit

Tipped us to win last week, but not all that confident about tonight. I’m worried Penrith are really going to see this as a fitting way to turn their season around, with us having started their slide. Angus being out is also a massive loss.

Regardless of where they sit in the ladder, this would be a good win. We’re also still down plenty of troops, as usual.

Every team is faltering and looking inconsistent. We’ll be suddenly back with very real top 8 chances if we win tonight.

Very excited to see Losalu get another crack. I want the forwards vicious and breathing fire tonight.

Enjoy the game everyone. Up the Chooks.

Beware the sleeping panther, desperate for a win.
We need to play cool, calm footy, no mental snaps from anyone...no matter the provocation.
No high tackles or any other illegal play to get binned for.
                    Very high completion rate.
No stupid short line drop outs!

                    Sutton is the ref.

Panthers are favourites in the betting.

I'll be doing cartwheels if we do. I think the pamfers will be well and truly fired up.

Strange feeling coming up against the Premiers again so soon after beating them. The motivation is with them with a chance to get their season back on track. We match up with them ok with their battle hardened trio Leota, Martin and Yeo an ad to them in the pack. Our young guys won't be intimidated though, we know that much. We miss the strike and thrust of Billy and Gus unfortunately. As others have said, Billy should be playing, shocker of a call.

Their points threat comes off Clearys brilliant kicking game. If we can deny points there, it shapes as a very close tussle.

My least favourite referee is on duty and would not mind at all seeing the Panthers steady the ship. The smiling assassin scares me.

Nothing to lose, all to gain. Would love to see us kick the conversion tonight after last weeks epic victory. Go Easts.

                              Right on the money Jaxx.

The Roosters are up against 13 Penrith players and the smiling assassin Referee.

Sutton scares me more than any player in the Penrith side.

He hates the Roosters , and if the game is close, his penalties and six again lotteries can make the difference between the Roosters winning or losing.
