if hugo kicks well and makes his tackles I'm happy .

that would be my only 2 requirements , anything beyond that is a bonus .

Yep, I tend to agree. If we are honest there is not a fit half in the club capable of consitent NRL standard performances so you've got to be pragmatic and clear on what you know they can provide.

What we can't do is constantly chop and change though. Continuity is vital, we've rolled the dice on a Savala/Smith combo and come out 1&1, now is not the time to panic. Dragons into Dolphins into the bye week should give us a good chance to evaluate where we sit and tinker if required then.

Give the kid some time. Only his second game in firsts.

Agree only the kids second game,Penrith did there homework on Hugo, all week we heard how good the kid long kicking game is.
The panther put more pressure on him than what bronco
          did,

Last week Hugo was the toast of the pen and a week later it's time to move on to another victim.

The inside mail I’ve heard in regards to Rodwell is he’s not quite ready for first grade. Apparently has struggled with the rigours of training full time with the firsts team at stages this year and needed some time away back at home.
Club has big wraps though but I think he is still physically and mentally not mature enough so rushing him in this year isn’t the right thing to do.

I believe you stick with Hugo-a-go-go and Smith - but it would be nice to see them put some dudes into holes.

I am still shaking my head after giving up 40 ff u ckking points on our home turf to those men wearing pink costumes.

So tough as a genuine number 7 to come into grade as a teenager too when they're not really maturing into elite players until 23-24. It's a real education and slow process, you could write a 500 page book on hyped up teenage halfbacks to play NRL over the last decade only to be discarded a couple of years later. Little bit different for your creative ball players or strong ball running 5/8's but such a hard ask for those genuine halfbacks.

I think it's great he got to play out the SG Ball season and he's in the prelim final next week, should get to play U20's State of Origin this year, then play some NSW Cup. All important steps in his education process and part of just enjoying loving the game, there's plenty of time for all the pressure of the NRL but he doesn't need that right now.

                  Saw these comments in a recent interview from him and think he's got the right mindset at the moment, just focussing on his development year by year;

"It's awesome (wearing the Roosters jersey). Growing up and playing Harold Matts and now SG Ball, I really love the club and all the people around it.

"It's a bit of pressure (signing a long-term deal), but I also know that it's a bit of a long-term thing, and I'm just going to take it year by year."

Elliot is pissing off. No use developing him. He’s way down the pecking order.

That’s annoying. I was hoping he would be next in line if Robbo decided Smith needed to work on his game a bit in NSW Cup. He looked good playing for NSW in the junior SOO game last year.

Where is he off to? thats a bummer - i honestly thought he could get some NRL reps at centre at some stage this year

Looks like Ethan King is off to the Cowboys as well

As for Rodwell, the kid is 19 not many players are ready at that age

Im a Hugo fan and think he will kick ass as a 7 13 or 11.12. Has a totally adaptable game due to his height. Im worried about Chad this week. He was our 18th man which is concerning.
i would run Hugo for 5 to 8 games then bring in Rodwell to play along side him if not sooner if Watto goes down. If Watto goes down bring Sandon in to play with zdc as 9

I call BS on that rumour cause if that was true he would not have been named in the extended line up this weekend.

Is it time for sandon to get the flick?

That was his brother on the extended bench.
