Never said it was a rumour and you’re thinking about Tom Rodwell who is listed as a centre and is 23.
His brother is Toby and is a halfback and only 19.
Easy to mix up to be fair

You want to dump Savala after 2 games? Win every game dominatly or the 'Pen will be calling for your head.

I don't think Hugo has looked great in attack, but he looks like he'll make his tackles, and his kicking is definitely his strength at this stage. I can't blame him much for his kicking against the Panthers. Some people complaining about not finding the grass, don't realise he was often kicking from his 30m line. You'll be extremely lucky to find the turf if you're kicking it on your 30m line on the last tackle.

I actually think he'll be a good fit with Walker (who we cannot get back soon enough). And since he has been given a starting halves position for the moment, you don't just revert that decision based on a single loss to the Panthers - or anyone for that matter.

Exactly right. Hugo was kicking on the last tackle well on the Roosters side of halfway, with plenty of pressure coming from Penrith defenders.

Ther's an old adage in rugby league that says if your forwards arent winning the battle, your halves (and usually your backs) are up against it.

I even read anarticle where Kieran Foran said that halves will always be under pressure when they are "on the back foot"

Hugo deserves more chances and a fair go. I will even go as far to say Sandon should be given the opportunity to see how he fares, when our pack finally gets on top of the opposition.

Maybe on Friday against St Merge?

Townsend is the biggest let down.

                Give Savala a chance.

Sandon has played 38 NRL games and still looks lost. Be great if someone could teach him to run towards the goalposts rather than the guy with the flag.

Rodwell is a Nathan Cleary type halfback, which we need. He is 19, the same age as Galvin who is in his 2nd year of NRL.
Robbo will claim that Toby is 2 years off a debut. Savala played five-eighth in NSW cup, they should be the 6 and 7.

Sandon and Savala under 50 NRL games between them, with a makeshift hooker and rookie hooker are a definite pass at this stage and should be given time .
Townsend was supposed to be the experienced steady hand while Walker was out to help the young blokes adjust.
Add two rookies in the centres and three in our pack its a a baptism of fire .

On the Roosters official website the Roosters have 37 players, I thought you could only have 30 players in your top squad?

All fair points mate but honestly makes you scratch your head as to why the Club allowed the 2025 season to get this way, they had time to plan and adjust accordingly..

Very disappointing but I guess we can’t do much but support the team, hope they can jag a win on Friday!

Odd we knew suaali was leaving in 2023
                          Manu was a surprise
Keary was re signed and months later told to leave
jwh was always close to retirement or super league
we let 2 players go in their prime

                          and we signed Chad Townsend
re signed Spencer after 3 games for a big upgrade
all after recently signing young and b smith

I'd be surprised if Elliot or Rodwell would be as good as Savala and Smith. They are less experienced and would have the same issues with our current NRL team who aren't giving Smith and Savala much opportunity to shine. Sandon makes a few bad errors but is still finding his feet. He got off to a bad start playing with Chad and looks like he is feeling the pressure. I don't have any problem with Savala as he is just starting out and probably playing to instructions. I thought the team were going pretty well till Sutton took charge. We didn't have enough experience on the field to deal with change in momentum. Two younger halves weren't going to solve that problem. We will just have to tough this year out.

Yeo fair play. Look 2 games and his 2nd game he was targeted as well as our forwards got out muscled and part of that was the line speed of the Riff.

He should go OK against the Queen's but we can't just keep flicking blokes after 2 or 3 weeks
