What's with Marky's releasing the ball when he gets tackled, rolling it backwards?

Marky and Toops let in 2 tries.
Dom must stay in the team.
The first try was two on two Marky had Edwards but tupou came off his wing and left the riff winger unmarked so that was on toops

Marky has to be there so must be right wing
strong in contact and will score tries young won’t anyway

Don’t think that one was on Toups at all mate imo. Marky planted both feet and as a result was stuck in no man’s land - it was all MM. Toups had to come in as a result because if he doesn’t the inside man scores MM was never getting him from his flat footed position. Toups comes in at that point to make them have to make the pass - imo it was the correct play for Toups to make because MM ****ed up. Making them pass at least introduces the possibility of a poor pass.

        Marky full on tackles Edwards
I bellieve tupou didn’t trust inside to make the tackle but it was 2 on 2

yeah you’re talking about the first try and I’m thinking of the second - both similar ****ups but you’re right the first one is on both of them - but if Edward’s decides to run in that first one MM imo wouldn’t have stopped him it’s just that he goes to ground voluntarily after he passes. Marky has some work to do on centre defence. He will get it I’m sure. He’s got loads of potential. playing wing this week which will make it defensively easier for him.

Probably, if the refereeing is like last game and the 2010 grand final.

If we keep doing short line
dropouts and giving the opposition gift tries, we'll keep losing games.

Radley is best used off the bench/in the rotation these days...against not so fresh opposition.
We play ok for the first 20 minutes of games, then seem to lose energy and strength ...and start making mistakes.
Each mistake turning into loss of possession, momentum and field position.

I have a feeling that this could be Sandon's last chance before he joins Young.

He can't complain as he's been given ample time to score higher than a 2/10.

I remember Manly putting 70 on the Panthers in the early 70's ..... so it's possible, they have form !

The game was in 1973 , at Penrith Park - final score Manly 70 Penrith 7

Manly had a team of superstars who went B2B that year- in that game they scored 14 tries and Eadie perfect with the boot 14 goals.

Equivalent to a scoreline of 84 to 8 in today's pointscoring system, where tries are worth 4 points

Its unlikely to happen again, as the gulf in talent, today, between teams is so much smaller.

How good was Ken Maddison that year ? - when he ran the ball, he was almost impossible to stop.
