Comparing team lists the merge have the better backs but we own the middle and bench. All we need to do is stand up and do their job and do it fkcn well

I think most impressively, Robbo is giving Toia the time and reps needed to build on his game. He hasn’t stood out and he’s the least experienced so he could’ve easily dropped him to no fanfare from the media like Young gets. Toia has done his job and will only get better so I applaud the decision.

Only knock would be not playing Losalu. He’s a big bopper and he’s looked bright. Great to see Egan healthy but I question his punch off the bench. I would’ve given him a few more games in NSW Cup. He seems too similar to Steep.

Hoping we put out a performance befitting of the grandeur and importance of ANZAC day.
I was at Mascot Oval and saw Egan play last Friday. Despite the lack of match fitness he looked pretty good.

I've always supported you against many predators...up till now anyway .

This is quite funny actually. You even got 2 likes!
          My mistake Jack

Their middles have actually been very solid this year. Couchman, De Belin and Egan are quite strong. They moved Leilua to the middle a few times this year aswell and he seems to be better used for 20mins here and there. Our forwards will need to aim up.
That Sua prick always seems to play well against us. Need to rough him up.

Marky is yet to be proven as a right winger.
Dom got blamed for letting in that Panther's try under the posts from a kick, the camera went straight onto him.
He had it covered but the ball hit the left upright low down and rebounded to the right, towards the right upright.
There was no possible way he could've reached the ball.

Marky jumped for a bomb, was beaten in the air by a Panther's player, the ball batted back and a Panther's try resulted.

              He has his chance.
He should do what Dom couldn't master...stay on his wing in defence and never let anyone past him on the outside.
Let those inside him suffer the relegation consequences of any tries scored.

Except Marky did play all his rugby on the right wing

When the Panthers were on 26 points, then scored a try they had Edwards in to make the extra man, and when he scored there were still the Panthers centre and winger outside him.
Dom got the blame as usual, but there were never enough
Roosters defenders on that side of the posts.
Marky would not have made any difference.
The forwards were all bunched up near the posts.

I hope he goes well, but don't expect miracles.

Wings actually much easier to defend than centre. (Except kicks). The latter you have two other defenders to work with, and pay attention to inside and out. As a winger the sideline is your friend. An inanimate object that you control and then bring your defence to one side of your body.

Marks a smart player and quick learner. The well drilled Panthers edges bamboozled him a little last week.

I agree that he has had to cover multiple players on several occasions and been roundly criticised for letting the try in. The problem is that when faced with a 2 on 1 situation, he never commits to tackling either of them. He stands somewhere in between them waving his arms and hopes he gets an intercept when he should be putting defensive pressure on the attackers and forcing them to execute the overlap. Sometimes you get a greedy centre who doesn't pass and you can shut down the movement. Sometimes you can force an error from the winger in contact. Sometimes if you stay on your man a sliding defender can cover the centre. Tackling neither and attempting an intercept is the lowest percentage play.

Watching Young constantly rush in, leave his man and gift them an overlap time after time has me scratching my head.

                            Potential options for his actions.

                            1. Is he following Robbo's instructions? This could be something new that Robbo was experimenting with. Rush in and put pressure on the opposition.
                            2. Is Young that stupid?
                            3. Did he develop this bad habit when he was playing in the UK as a junior and now it's part of his cellular memory?

You forgot to mention Jacob Liddle who is on their bench and is in top form this year.

His name has been regularly on the tryscoring sheets - he has scored a few tries from dummy half and also at close range,

Add Holmes, Gutherson and Sloan in their backline, and the Roosters will be on the wrong side of the scoreboard, unless they bring their "A" game to Allianz on Friday afternoon.
