  • The Refs

I've been watching a fair bit of NRL this season, and not just Chooks games.

One thing that stands out - and is somehow comforting - is the amount of terrible calls that a lot of teams seem to cop.

Sutton just butchered the Dogs in Brisbane tonight for example. Three sin bins for the Doggie and somehow managed to turn a blind eye to plenty of foul play from the Broncs.

Even Souths have been copping it.

So... not just us, would you believe.

    Another upset in tonights game.

The game managers are in great form this season.

    Sutton - Mr fix it.

There are no game managers but only one and that be V’Landy sole ruler and emperor of the NRL who will fall on his sword.

I like seeing the dogs lose a game, but my goodness they were reamed in the first half. Maybe Sutton is colour blind and saw some red in the dogs jerseys tonight?

The perception that the game's administrators want/need the Broncos to win a title after a 20 year drought, seems to be increasing.

Premium TV slots, questionable referee bias and yes, convenient salary cap concessions ie: Ben Hunt on about half of what he had been earning elsewhere. FM

Dogs own fault they were penalised and binned.
They hit Broncos players in the head with shoulders, did shoulder charges etc.
            You can't do that.

Broncos were too big, too strong, too fast, too skilful.

Dogs played their first top team, and were well beaten....like we were in rnd 1.

Their premiership drought is inexcusable considering the everything that gets thrown their way to help them.

It was also their first game where they had to travel.

They have been made to look a lot better than they actually are.

Yes they got hammered by the refs but Curran I think was lucky to only be binned and not offed.

This was their 1st test playing a too 4 side. Donkeys seemed off in the end half and Dogs clawed back.

If Donkeys played with same intensity as 1st half it might have got to at least 50.

What about Souffs? The welfare club has everything go their way and as only won 1 comp in over 50 years.

Spot on. I thought they were extremely lucky to not have a player sent off, after seemingly, almost deliberately headhunting as a collective for about 40-minutes. Didn't think they were hard done by at all.

On another note, it was excellent watching the game flow today in the Roosters game. So incredibly refreshing to have the refs stay mostly out of it. I thought we could have gotten a few additional penalites and 6-agains in the ruck, but if that comes at the cost of a slow, stop start game, I much prefer this.

He got an absolute bagging on here when we beat Penrith in round 2. Methinks a lot of people had forgotten Sutton & the Klown.

Apart from the ridiculous sinbin, he did ok. Stayed out for the most part and let them play footy.

                              He went ok.

Bunker were hopeless as usual. The Sandon Smith binning was their attempted “gotcha” moment to bring Merge back into it, but they flopped.

Also Teddy’s contest with Gutho at 47 minute mark they pull out of their arses “Gutherson has possession and Teddy steals one on one and knocks on”. Bullshit. Teddy clearly had possession and Gutho ripped it out - play on and fair try.
