Between him and the bunker, they did their best to keep St George in it (or at least respectable).
Midway through the second half, they called Marky Mark for a knock on when Easts were a few metres out. Reckoned it travelled forward off his forearm when he was on the ground going for the ball. It was nowhere near him.
And how is it that whenever Easts tackle high, they get penalised, binned and put on report, yet when their opponents do it, it's just a penalty?

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Id take him over Klown and Sutton any day.
I can cop mistakes from refs, but outright bias - detestable.
I know a week is a long time in this game but last week Edwards interference on Teddy is all clear - no penalty, play on. This week, Paps very similar interference on Jye Grey is a penalty and 10 in the bin.
No wonder people are PO'd with the state of the refs and bunker.

Did that little Vlandys-arse-licking twerp Anusley have anything to say about the non sin-bin/penalty try for Edwards taking out Teddy, or don’t they do those “briefings” anymore in 2025?

And what about Valentine Holmes's tackle on Savala that led to their first try? I saw a shoulder charge that looked suspiciously high, but nothing was checked by the ref or, apparently, the bunker.

Textbook shoulder charge - point of shoulder used with as much force as possible with zero tackling motion.
Another really easy decision for both the ref and bunker, but deliberately ignored to help shift momentum to a more even contest - sadly for them, it didn’t.
It was allowed, until 2012. It has been illegal since then, for good reason, see below link. Way, way more dangerous than the kind of soft slap on the head Sandon was binned for.
