        Billy's D is next level.

He's a specialist at defusing an overlap when it presents itself.

Anzac Day has always been special in my family. My grandfather fought in France during WW1, and was gassed on the front line by the Germans. He survived, but was never a well man afterwards, and died relatively young as a result. I’m sure there are many people who have similar stories in their family.

I also work with many ex-military servicemen, and you can’t help but absorb some of the sense of occasion that they feel today. It means a lot to all of them.

By far the most emotive and sacrosanct day on the Rugby League calendar. For the Roosters, this was Jared’s day for a long time. He loved representing his own father who served in the NZ military. I’m keen to see who’s going to stand up and lead us today.

            Lest We Forget.
My grandfather also served in WWI. He was a stretcher bearer and was commended for the Military Medal for recovering the wounded with 'utmost coolness and determination' during the operations against the Hindenburg Line near Noreuil in France on the 3rd/4th May 1917 even though two of his original party were wounded. Not long after, he had his arm blown off by the Germans and, ironically, the surgeon who attended him and amputated his arm to the shoulder was a German.

He re-enlisted when WWII rolled around and got a desk job in Intelligence.

I never met him, but I'm bloody proud of him.

            • Please no to DCE. The club has decided to go in this new direction.

Consistency is our problem. It will feel better in the future when we have success with ' our ' players, not expensive imports.

How do all the officials miss a blatant shoulder charge by Val Holmes on Savala for the Dragons first try???

                What a farce!

                  • The win today puts us at 14th but not that far from the 8.

Dolphins are 10th so if we can knock over them and the bye things start looking very tasty.

                    • Huh, I was just rewatching some of the game and I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it here, but I'm almost positive the first Dragons Try comes off a blatant shoulder charge from Valentine Holmes. Absolutely 0 wrapping motion.

I don't really have a problem with it, but by the letter of the law I'm pretty sure that's a shoulder charge and No Try these days.

                      • If Sandon is out next week we'll struggle to beat the Dolphins. Never thought I'd say that.

hopefully they'll just give him a fine but you never know. it was a tough one because the st g bloke was falling but the way the rules are you can't complain about the sin bin. there wasn't heavy contact so he should get off. the bad thing is he gets no concession for being sin binned

                          • Some of Connor Watson’s defensive efforts in this game were insane, he must’ve been close to MOTM on his defensive scramble alone.

A nice headache to have but going to be a tough balancing act to give Robson/Radley/Watson a fair share of the minutes next year.

the guy has no idea of outside players rushing in
                              This aged well …..

I hope if the guys in the team right now are doing well ie the halves and Watto at 9 then when cheese is fit he is left out. Hes not here next year and the others are - keep their development on track. Cheese to 14 for ZDC is a valid option but only if he deserves it and it’s not just a right of passage back into first grade. A lot of footy to be played before this has to be sorted but if the kids are still playing we’ll leave them their and Watto at 9 - he is killing it.

Ha I forgot Walker will also be coming back when Smith is. I think baring injuries there will be no spot for Cheese .

6/7 Hugo for his kicking and Walker
                                9 Watto
14 Sandon think he could be great there coming on against tiring defenders.

ZDC has performed admirably but others offer more
Cheese at his best makes any team but he hasn’t shown his best often enough with us and going to the Vermin next year I wouldn’t ply him unless we are short.
