Off the mark is where he's potent. He also has great balance as he accelerates with a nice swerve.

      Thoughts.
Without doubt he deserves to be there next week and Dom can stay put.

Quickly becoming one of my favourite players, seems like a leader on the field which probably comes from his extensive Union career but also as a player he's done some incredible things in his 8 games or so in the NRL.

Another poster mentioned Origin, not sure that will happen but if willing and available I could see him getting picked for Fiji if they play internationals this year.

Honestly, it's daylight between him and Dom. He isn't as fast as Dom, but absolutely eviscerates him in every other area of the game; defense, in the air, hands, passing, flick pass, step, yardage, game sense.
I'll be pretty surprised if Dom is ever selected over him again.

But yes, he has been a revelation for his level of League experience.
I was thinking the same thing, when Mark walked back into position, on the Roosters side of halfway, after scoring.

The guy looks like a second rower , and is built like a brick sh*thouse.

Funny thing is , Toops looks kind of lean at 105 kg, and Mark looks huge at 104kg.

And its funny how the modern trend is, with lots of forwards tipping the scales at 100kg, and backs at 105kg +

Don is being paid more than Mark and is signed with us until 2028. With Tyreece Tati also developing well, I wonder if Dom might find himself elsewhere next year? Or maybe in Perth in 2027?

yeah, looking good. has the ability to win a match with is brilliance. wing's probably his best spot.
toia's coming along pretty well but we should give him a bit more early ball. he's such a balanced runner and can do more damage

He reminds me of Wendell Sailor. Built like a forward but plays like a back.

Marky N has cemented the right wing spot. Dom Young is yesterday's news.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

I said it when we signed him that he was legit. He’s big, strong, has a great step & fend. He will get the defensive side of things as that will be easy to pick up for him the more he trains. The big question now is what do we do with Young?
Not getting too far ahead because we all know Billy the kids frailties, but the best 4 are Toops,Mark,Toia & Billy. I know Toops is nearing the end but he’s still got at least another year & maybe 2 if he holds up & wants to keep playing. I’d happily offload Young as his price tag to sit in ressies or to be injury backup is too high & can be invested elsewhere. I know you need depth, but you don’t have high priced, outside back depth on your books when you can pull a kid or journeyman into the team & have that coin invested elsewhere.

1 more rugby guy who is athletically better then Marky M is Jordan petaia
just signed in the NFL but the same age, and quicker and stronger then mark
only thing injuries have let him down so far
if he ever came back to Aus I would love us to have a crack at him for toops replacement post 2026

Marky is one hell of a footy player.

Dom should be looking for a new club imo.
