  • Well done Spencer

Haven’t noticed much commentary from the Pen on Spencer’s game yesterday.

I haven’t watched a replay yet but live at the game I thought he was fantastic. Big power game from him yesterday I thought. Nobody in the game hits the line harder than what he did yesterday. I’ve been ( like most on here) disappointed in his performances on balance since he came but yesterday I thought he was immense. One poor handling error but outside of that his game was very good.

Oh and Whyte - well he keeps getting better and better - what a player he’s turned into.

I recall only 1 error from him and I think it was at a time when the result was beyond doubt.

A worthy mention to E Butcher who, I think, made zero errors.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

His hitups have never been a problem. Its always a strong hard carry. Its just the frequency. NRL online stats show only 5 hitups. The lowest of all the starting forwards. Also ten tackles. Again the lowest of all our forwards.

For the highest paid forward or there abouts, he needs to lift his work rate .

I thought Steep had his best game to date. Highly involved throughout the game.

              Spencer was solid
he really carries hard and hurts the defence

Whyte must be in the top 5 props in the game atm
still only just 23 years old

To be fair he went off with an AC join injury that he had to get painkillers for and only came back on for the last 10 minutes.

He also took the first hit up off every set.

                      He was great yep.

I would like him and Thurston to shake hands and move on. You don't need this sort of stuff in society. Peace is always the best option.

                          Where's the credit for Wong?
He virtually played the entire game and was strong in both defence and attack.
I think he's a special one and developing just fine.

Really good balance between his flair and getting through the dirty work this year. I think it speaks massive volumes that he's nailed down that starting spot after Robinson said he wanted Radley in the second row this year.

Still has a few defensive lapses (don't think the Sloan try was one, he was damned if he over chased and dammed if he didn't) but all in all it would be great to see him nail down that righ edge position because I can't think of a right edge forward who's owned that spot for us since Aubusson.
