For me a player should only be sin binned if there is clear intent to break the rules and suspensions should be rare. The current system as it stands where players go to the judiciary and get suspended for head slaps or accidents can't continue.

My preference is that the Bunker can only be used for try scoring decisions only - leave the high tackle decisions to the refs and touchies.
Any indiscretions missed can be handled by the MRC.
Unfortunately, I’m starting to fall out of love with rugby league as it’s become really hard to watch.

The biggest problem in my opinion is that it makes the game too stop/start. Every time there is a high tackle the game stops to wait for the bunker to watch it frame by frame. Add in the players staying down until the trainer comes out or signaling the ref if a tackle grazes their chin.
The other issue is the crackdown will only last another few weeks or until coaches complain enough. Look at the play the ball crackdown, we see the odd one picked up and the hundreds missed every week.

How many of the sin bins have resulted in HIA's?
This moderate force is subjective BS and there is no consideration on mitigating circumstances. ie. a player falling, a tackle coming off the ball. And every now and then they come up with an incidental contact call ffs. Then a player lifts his knee into a defender's head and not even a penalty. Two minutes later a player falls back into a tackler's shoulder and it's a sin bin. Just frustrates the fcuk out of everyone.
And as if the last two weeks is going to stop any future litigation. What about the previous 6 weeks or when this BS ends. They just have NFI.
PVL dreams up these fkn ideas in his head and comes up with these dumb arse rule changes mid season.

Two really fundamental issues with the current way they are interpreting this issue.
1. They are penalising tackles where there is no contact with the head at all.
2. They are sinbinning players for tackles that, in some cases, are a ight touch to the face/head region with no intent and no force.
RP makes the joke about running around with tags on their shorts. Don't laugh...look how far the game has changed in the past 30 or 40 years. Nothing would surprise me.

And also it's a male thing, one doesn't see intent to injure in the women's game nor stiff arms for that matter, nor shoulders, and their game flows pretty much without incident. Another thought is that in recent years we have multi million dollar players who might either be stood down or injured as a result of pushing the physical envelope.
The game would be a much better spectacle if unnecessary violence was kept to an absolute minimum. After all, it's not about injuring as it often was in the past, it's about athleticism and skill these days.

It's all designed to lessen the NRL's culpability when the inevitable head concussion class action(s) start.
They couldn't care less about fans and the media complaining about inconsistency. They want to be able to say to the Court "We did this, this and this to care for our players"

The fact is he doesn't understand the game at all.
He's in this stupid mindset where he thinks the quicker the game the better, then over-reacts when the inevitable accidents occur.
He doesn't look after the game at grassroots level.
He's ruining the rep games.
League is more heart attack inducing and less enjoyable since his influence.

Id love to see the amount of HIA/Cat 1 in the last 5 seasons for players defending vs players running with the ball. I think it would be 80% defenders at least, largely due to the rule changes and increase in fatigue and game speed.
