It's on the coach, for me we are the second poorest prepared team just in front of Canberra. Parra and Penrith have very poor squads but I can see what both of those teams are trying to achieve when they take the field, Canberra and us on the other hand have good squads that play nowhere near potential most weeks.
If Smith doesn't coach structures then he has to go, yesterday!

If Trent Robinson is under contract in France, we should be signing Adrian Lam as our next coach.

He was assistant coach in Smith's first year here?
He at least has a lot of idea.

I don't think that a Bellamy or Hassler would be very philosophical about a performance like yesterdays. Lucky for the SFS that Hassler is not coaching us otherwise a door or two would have been unhinged at around 5pm. That's the difference between a winner and someone that settles for 'just good enough performances.'

All terrific players and we didn't make a play for any of them. Our club is dumb.

I couldn't agree more mate, but this "just good enough" attitude is rubbing off on our players and supporters and it's scaring me.

Anasta was never a leader when he came here mini is a follower...and thats all you have .Of course this is a major problem at the moment. The other is no leader can be developed when you keep losing and get flogged so who is out there for hire ? probably nobody .Watching Maloney the way he plays he should be Captain next year not farken Mini.

Didn't watch yesterday's game. Saw the half-time score & didn't want to put myself through the agony. As a result I wasn't as shitty last night as if I would have been if I'd watched it.

Does that make me a fair weather fan? I don't think so. I've put myself through nearly the last 40 years of following this club & I reckon we all deserve bloody medals. Yes, it could be worse, we could be south's fans, but at least they embrace medocrity. We don't!

It's just the same old stuff with this club. It's so predictable it's laughable. Play Manly get flogged. Play Bulldogs, get flogged. Play Cowboys, get flogged. Play Broncos, get flogged. All these other teams turn up knowing were soft & we not doing anything differently to change it all - basically we accept it by saying "we're a young side". Most of these blokes have been in 1st grade for the last 2 years - it's no longer an excuse. Above all it's embarrassing when you see other "young sides" leading the comp.

Anyone who thinks SBW coming here next year will change things dramatically has rocks in their head. We need to sign some tough, experiebced "smart footballers" who want to turn things around and commit to the club long term. Are there any footballers out there like this, there must be because they keep beating us week after week.

In the end it's all about attitude and when your coach can seemingly take some good points out of yesterday's game most likely nothing is going to change. If you look at most of our players though, if Craig Bellamy of Des Hasler were coaching them I guarantee they would be playing to their potential. I think that sums up the current coaching regime - they are not getting the best out of the players so I think we should be looking elsewhere, sooner rather than later. 2 or 3 smarter footballers & a new coach would probably see things improve, but we're light years away from another premiership.....

But who wants to commit to a club with no apparent direction??

i havent done any research on this, but i would be interested to know which club has bought/sold the most players in the last 3-5 years.
you would think with the roosters being labelled "the transit lounge" we would be #1 in this category.

hopefully a few more 50+ thrashings and old mate nick will get rid of Smth and put someone in who actually knows what they are doing.

a proper coach would have known not to put perrett on the field yesterday given whats happened in the last 7 days, surprise surprise he drops 3 easily catchable balls. a propper coach would have also given bwaith the flick at 5/8 months ago, yet we stick with a losing formula week in week out. The only smart thing he has done is having rotating hookers which has is better than having friend play 80mins.

Its the coach. The reason is he is losing support of players and now everyone wants to leave. He hasn't put a structure in place. Bad team selections. There is no gameplan all ad-lib. We were just going side to side with a ridiculous 5th tackle option against Manly. He also saw positives in a 52-14 loss. He is off his head we need a sane coach.

The only two wanting to leave now are because we didn`t renew their contracts and got as bitter as a lemon...

To be fair to Mitchell he is a journeyman and this gives him a chance to secure a future in Townesville where he had no future here.

As for the sooky lala winger, well that's another story - loyal clubman my arse!
