Sam is doing a 360, we signed him from the Bulldogs. Good luck to him and his family. He played amazing in 2010 and the referee's boss changed the rules because of his sheer power and quick play the balls.

He will flourish at Canterbury and is a good chance of winning a premiership - Rod Silva like.

There has been talk of Mini to the Wing, and RTS to fullback.

He is not worth the reported $300K he was after and if it wasn't for Lloyd, he wouldn't have even crossed Hasler's mind.

Good luck Sammy but there are better options coming through.
All the opposition supporters I hear say that Anasta is rubbish.

Imo I would have let Mini retire at the end of this year and use the $200k for long service to keep Perrett and in doing so his brother stays. If we get a new coach for next year all/most of our players will improve, in worst case scenario Perrett doesn't then he can run around for Newtown and it won't cost us anything (or certainly not much) on the cap. I don't think the $300k a season at the dogs is entirely accurate, in any case I'm sure he would stay for less to stay with us on the proviso that Smiffy is no longer with us as Perrett can't stand him!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

            Here's looking at you, kid.

Dumb Decision from the Roosters. We are giving the opposition too much, on the field and off it. Oh well, as long as Sam and the dogs are happy. The nrl need to look at this. The Roosters have played Manly twice. From the top of my head Sammy played both games. The Bulldogs play Manly in a few weeks. If they pick him it means that a player would have had 3 games against the opposition in the regular season. Shananigans.

There has to be a reason we actually let Sammy go early... Dogs are clearly paying out the contract but maybe they threw a few bucks the clubs way ??? I can't see why we would give them such a big advantage for no reason

They wouldn't be worried he will be back in Rugby in a year.

Maybe we threw the game on Sunday so Manly would release Oldfield mid-year...

Yeah, sbw told nzru, he would love to stay and carry on playing coz he's enjoying the way he's playing right now but the contract signed a little while a go, people in nz are not happy about the whole things. He's only going to the roosters for just one year contract. Very interesting.

What's interesting is if they will pick him for the test matches coming up knowing that he is leaving.

Anyway I still think he will be back to Rugby for the World Cup.

We signed him from Palm Beach . I'm pretty sure he and Hannant came down the same time year after making Australian Scholboys together.
