But to fix it, you can't whore out what little dignity and integrity we have left to a blow-in who is demanding to do what he wants in two other sports, when he wants to do it.

I'm sure that won't go down like a lead balloon with every other Rooster player busting their arse all pre-season on a pufteenth of $onny Bill's pay packet as he waltzes straight into the team in March.
Why not!Its exactly what Benji Marshall tried to do a few years back with an off season deal in Japan. He was stopped by Gallop, because he had a current 3 year contract registered with the NRL.
SBW wont be the last to play this one year card when 3 months in Japan earns another $800k...

So in your job, you'd be happy to do all the nitty gritty hard work for 4 months while a co-worker is allowed to go work for a rival company, earning 8 times your annual salary in the space of a few months, then have them waltz back in when your job gets fun and in full swing after you've laid all the groundwork and have them still placed on a pedestal above you?

Decisions like this can destroy a team/workplace/club etc.

The option is available to all team mates if they are good enough...

Bull shit it is. It's an option for a club desperate to sign a former great player at any expense.

If any player at any other club broached this option the conversation would end in two seconds.

Mate any one of our first graders could play Japanese rugby. Any one of them.

What do you think the club would say if Cordner or Moga said 'I've got a 300K three-month deal to play in Japan...see you in March'.

              Snap out of it.

And if they let Sonny do it they have to let everyone do it.

As stated, the option IS available to all players on one year contracts.
P.S,they would be back late January and have given up six weeks annual leave there teammates have enjoyed.
                Try looking up the details...

Do you honestly think the club would let anyone else go and do it?

                  Seriously?

Even if it is for 1 year at least we'll have a good year rather than another year of patheticness. Who's to say we won't sign another superstar to replace SBW. I'll be glad to get to look forward to some winning footy.

No one else in the club is in a position to do it.
My whole point was Benji tryed to do it 3 years back,SBW is signing one year deals to do it now and I believe a few more players will start doing it in the near future unless rules are changed.

When Lote Tuqiri joined the Tigers he came straight from playing rugby in the UK without an offseason training.
                        ...

Some of u need to chill. A couple of points,

SBW is not even here yet.

If he comes who knows how long he will be here. It's only media stating he only wants one year.

It's NZ rugby saying they would love him back for the world cup. Not SBW.

Who knows what he is gonna do. Leave the hate mail until, if and when we actually sign him

I too agree. All this talk about 1 year contract, destabilising nonsense. Some peoples rant are sounding more like Scientologists on a fun day out.
