Been running this place for 5 years and with the exclusion of having T.Carney here for a year, people have discussed the same things and convince themselves that the team will come good, and when they don't, they manage to convince themselves that we're building for the next year which evidently isn't the case either.
As for Smith's recent 'Happy with elements of loss & almost being able to compete with the top teams". That did me. Game over.
It's a vicious circle. As I said in another thread, I've defended the club, Anasta, Smith (etc etc) for years, but even I have had enough. Letting Carney go pretty much tipped me over and now I'm done until they start playing consistently. Forget SBW, throw the book at Bellamy. It's unlikely he'll come, but I'd like them to atleast waste their time chasing someone who will make the team competitive every single week. The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

Remember some of our younguns debuted at 18 odd so by the time they're 21-22 they've got a few years experience which jacks up their contract price.

Consider the amount of marquee players we have as well. Not many at all. SKD, Pearce, Mini? don't think they are all commanding that much...

The moves were made a year ago. Myles, Carney, Ryles let go early & not replaced. Bought a few fringe players for this year, and brought forward payments to 2012 for current players to clear space for 2013.
SBW signing has been a longtime in the making, and the current lack of depth/lack of signings in our current roster is part of the effect of having to clearup somewhere around 1 million in the cap for 2013.
The club knew SBW was coming in 2013 before a ball was kicked in 2012.
The majority of freeing up space was done a year ago & bringing contract payments forward.
So he better be worth it. Most of us felt our roster was weakened in 2012, we are seeing the results of it.
Im not defending the coaching staff, but pretty much who is hired & fired and recruitmment decisions are out of their hands.
I did have a close working relationship with the marketing manager the development officer and the media manager at Easts a number of yrs ago and even they were suprised when some of the factual news that did come out. Most of the conversations we had were speculative and opinion on their part based on fragments of information they had and yet ppl on here are posting that they have been told by Easts that SBW is on 850k and know it to be fact .... farking laughable shyte that ppl post and claim to be fact.Last edited by SConcierge; 06-28-2012, 11:05 PM."
