People need to realise that the young players cannot do it on their own. Look at Souths. They brought in elite quality in Burgess and Inglis and it makes better players of all those around them.
Agree. We have some good young talent that would only thrive playing along side the likes of SBW & Folau.
Folau is in the best shape of his career. The fact that he is lighter would just add to his acceleration. He is still well over 100kegs so i don't know what people are talking about. If anything, his fitness would be a bonus. I know he got flogged in the pre-season.
Folau at fullback - now THAT is a hilarious statement.
Unless he gets quality early ball, he is just an overpriced winger/centre. I think Brisbane realised that half way through his contract.
He is a great finisher and would look good on the back of a good forward pack with early ball from the halves. For 500k+ he is a dud buy.
It's all good and well to say you need to buy quality, but there still needs to be sense behind buying a superstar. Snapping up every big name on the market ... well, 2008 here we come again (Before someone mentions that this year is very similar to 2008, the two seasons are worlds apart, back then the team bar a couple of players DID NOT TRY).
Folau gurantees you 20 tries a season when he plays for Melbourne who have not skipped a beat since he left and on the Brisbane right edge where he plays outside Lockyer/Thaiday/Hodges.
$BW would make us contenders again..He could be one of the best centres to play for the club if he comes..He is an absolute superstar who wins games single single-handedly..
Folau would be a reflex buy IMO..And we would undoubtedly pay overs for a guy who hasn't played for over 2 years,& now looks more like a rake than the behemoth who played for the Cheats & Donks..

Pearce and Maloney is a pretty good halves combination, and a right hand side of Aubusson, SKD and Folau is not as bad as you think.
