Pearce has been our best player this year.

He nearly put PWN into retirement.

Villagers, put down your pitchforks and quietly go home.

I agree... He has been more than compensating for anastas workload (or lack there of) but i will admit he has been down on form since origin 2. I have faith though and would hate to lose him.
I do however love laughing at people suggesting mortimer will be the better option to partner maloney

Too true. Sad how everyone loves to kick him when he's down but he had been good for us for most of the year. Maybe he just isn't up to origin standard but the same can be said for most halves that have tried for NSW.

maybe if Pearce could kick as well as the kicking on here he would not be copping it so much

It's hard to get technical about kicks finding the grass when most of them are clearing kicks. He did have a few shockers but what do you do? Soward was apparently the best in the league and his kicking went shithouse in origin.

I reckon he kicks pretty well for us most of the time and can only get better.

He needs to be taught how to get into position to take his long kicks.

He looks like he's still in two minds about what he's doing when the ball is already in his hands with defence barrelling in on him.

He's got to pipe up with the pigs too. It looks like he's too scared to tell them what to do and guide them around at times.

I still rate him, I've seen him do some good things on the footy field but he needs to start doing it a bit more regularly or my patience will wear very thin.

Atlease someone put a thread up about something positive when a player as young as himsteps out for origin with so much pressure and then he recieves the punichment he did by queensklands forwards with head high shots, facials and grapples what do expect his confidence was surley to go down....

Everyone seems to forget that its not hard stepping up to origin so quickly Thurston had the likes of locky, smith and slater that could take the pressure off when he started..
Pearce has had carney and anasta.. Anasta has never been up to Origin standard and Carney is in the same boat as pearce!!!

how long do you give him before he steps up?
he has now played 9 origin games - alot of players dont get that many chances to step up and produce

I hope that Maloney shows the form of late last year, and then some when he comes to us in 2013...would love to see Pearce show massive improvement if that transpires and he can start playing with confidence on a regular basis at club level..soo can then take care of itself, don't really care, put Wallarse in there for all I care.

I would hate to see Pearce go to another club. But he's not the sort of player who can do it all by himself. Even Thurston can't do that at the Cowboys. He really needs another point of attack to take the pressure off him. Hopefully Maloney will help with that. A decent modern day fullback to replace Mini would also help.
I agree that Cronk hardly did anything either - in all 3 games! He is over-rated too and made to look good in a well drilled Storm team and a QLD team filled with stars.

.....and he has also been our best player this year. What does that make the rest of our players?

Just nod and agree with Cogburn. Poor guy won't be happy until we have the whole QLD team and have blown the salary cap 5 times over.

His kicks not finding the grass wasn't the problem in Origin.

QLD dropping back BOTH wingers on the 5th tackle every set (which is why he couldn't find space) yet Pearce never once running the ****ing ball to take advantage of the shortened defensive line was the problem. Showed a complete lack of ability to read the game.
