Yeah he was given a team including a load of expensive ex kangaroo's, and his coaching involved teaming up with one of the game's biggest legends. Surely they should have been mid-table at least?

The Souths are struggling and they made us look stupid!

There was plenty of talent and experience in our squad - but they have been poorly coached and managed so haven't performed.

The signs were there mid way last season but our success early in 2008 meant we had points up our sleeve to get into the finals.

There we saw a precurser to 2009 - we lead at half time in both games and did fark all in the final 40. Sound familiar??

We ended 2008 with a whimper and the lessons which should be have learned weren't and so we've had the year we had to have.

Thankfully the major change that needed to be made - the coach, has been. So whilst it will be a slow process, I've no doubt improvement will be evident in the next 1-2 years.

We have looked slow and unfit all year. Most of our tries last year were from kicks yet we have hardly scored any tries off kicks this year but have had very little creativity with attacking plays. Our defensive structure last year was probably the best for the first half of the year, especially on our line. This year we have NFI.

Some say the boys need proper training. So did they forget how to play from one year to the next? It is just all too hard to find reasons where we went so wrong in 12 months. But it does appear that some of the players just haven't put in this year and Freddie couldn't make the tough decisions. Whether that is part of his "no automony" statement is something we will never know.
We over achieved last season. the key this season was ADAPTATION. We failed to change. We needed an improvement in Fitness, tactics, skills, and attitude. Why? Because the game changed. freddy and his even less talented training staff this year, rested on their laurels. There was no off season stratgey, planning, contingency. There was no engagement with the NRL like many other clubs did, to understand the changes in the rules, and game, and to help with transitioning.

Our Administration Failed. On and off the field. The results speak for themselves.

I look at my soccer team as an example. 4 years ago we were shit hot. We won the 5th Div. then we won the 4th. Then the 3rd, then 2. This year wea are running last in Div 1. yep. We didnt expect we needed to bolster personel, players, training techniques had to change. we were bullet proof. We didnt factor in we were now playing against ex socceroos. Nah we'll be right!!! We spent the first 2/3 of the season getting hammered.

We've adapted a little with 4 rounds to go and have pulled off a hand ful of draws and a couple of wins. To achieve that turn around, we all had to alter our behaviour, and do it in a very specific and calculated way. The results came too late, but they did come.

The Roosters have only gotten worse. Even with a former Great and club legend Artie, pumping the boys up as much as he can, they have done eff all to show on the board.

Its about Attitude. Its the training. The tactics, The will to adapt. its mabo. Its the Vibe. The buck stops with Freddy and his bosses. Just like it will stop with Smiff and his bosses next year.

Well let's hope Smith brings what's missing melon which I hope includes some people who can figure out why people like Sa just don't give a damn and turn him around into a player that does care.
