  • ball playing fullback

simply a must in the modern game of rugby league, watching Reece Robinson putting on a clinic tonight for the Raiders just reminds me how much Mini lacks in ball playing ability and when combined with Anasta its a wonder how we score any points each weekend.

if one thing comes out of the last 9 weeks of the comp, it is we must fast track RTS into first grade to help ease the pressure on Pearce.

wouldn't object to Mini defending at fullback and RTS on the wing and then switching positions in attack, until RTS has had time to adapt to first grade.

we simply can't compete without a creative force at fullback especially when our 6/7/9 don't exactly scare any opposition.

      I knew there was a reason I didn't like u Fletch

I logged on to ask fellow Chooksters how long Reece Robinson was contracted for. This kid is a gun at fullback. Everytime he fills in there he is superb. As u said, he is a real footballer, and quick. U beat me to him.

Anyone know if he is locked in for a while?

Reece Robinson was seen by most Canberra Raiders (and Broncos) supporters as nothing more as a depth winger, if even that. They used to crucify him.

I'd hate to see how this forum would of received him during the start of his career, i can only imagine.

For all his faults, Furner made a good decision by sticking with the kid and eventually giving him a shot at FB. He is going through a real purple patch and is turning into a very handy player.

I'm very happy for the kid. Grew up in Waterloo, from a good family. Rarely drinks and very quiet.

His brother - Travis is a gun and was probably ahead of Reece when they were both at the Sharks, then broke his leg and strayed away from Rugby League for a few years. He is back with the Panthers, playing for Windsor - showing some good form too.

Reece Robinson is a perfect example as to why you never write kids off so early. Only freaks can dominate before their mid-twenties. Some players take a bit longer to mature, especially forwards.

Travis was a bit bigger growing up (twins ) and always seen as the better footballer.I always thought Reece had a bit more skill and Travis a bit more power. They hated Ricky Stuart when they were at the sharks but they are great kids their step dad is Beau Champions dad.i think Travis done his ankle glad to hear he is back playing

Hey BM I worked at redfern between 89 and 99 and knew a Robinson family from waterloo. But these were 2 koori girls aged around 20, one named Kelly. Pretty sure they both had very young kids. Don't suppose that would be the family and one of those kids would be reece?
