the Lewis/Panthers press conference is on at 2pm, will be interesting to see where this leaves Jennings he is firmly in the Lewis camp.

without question we need some more mature bodies in our squad, Lewis would be a great fit for 2/3 seasons, if it meant moving Guerra/Maubs/Arona on I would be all for it.

OMG...that's it...in that case I'll be happy with the motley crew we have for another year.
Lets rebuild for the next 10 years.

Do you believe that sportsmen are role models? Many Sportsmen fark up all the time. I choose to move on like many here have.
I remember hearing this in a movie. I feel it fits with SBW.

"There is no such thing as a new beginning. With every day we live, we pick up new baggage, baggage we must carry with us for the rest of our lives. There's no dropping it and pretending we are fresh and clean, just because we get off a boat in a new place."

              I like that, John.
              Hauntingly true.

                        Very true.

Dean Young hasn't trained with the team, except for the final run each week, for years. I think Hindy does similar, Mini did may still do.

I dare say every squad would have a player or two who physically can't complete every training session, thats a reality. Often those players are the best in that club. And you don't hear other players whinging about players who are doing rehab or nursing long term injuries. Besides they all train doing whatever is best for their body.

I reckon other players, especially the kiwi boys, would love the chance to just play with a bloke like $BW. He would be a hero of many of the young Kiwi blokes especially.

IMO only fans could find something wrong with such an arrangement. I doubt any player wouldn't want someone like $BW at their club.

                        The FlogPen .

                        You know it makes sense.

Stsae the big issue for me is about unequal treatment and expectations within our playing squad if we sign him.

I cant imagine other guys who are expected to make sacrifices, work hard for the greater good of the team etc. being happy with ONE player (regardless of ability) being allowed to completely dictate the terms of his time with the club.

It just reeks of a teetering culture becoming rottener (is that a word?) in this club.

For longer term success we must rebuild our identity and culture...I just dont think this is the way.

I'd sign Lewis in a heartbeat.

Name a second rower on Easts books that is better than Lewis.

                            You'll struggle...

Every club provides special treatment to special players. Nick takes it to a whole new level with his chairman pet projects, Carney and now SBW. I agree what we are doing to accomodate SBW goes beyond the realms of normal even though SBW is above the bell curve of normal anyway.

I was all for this when I thought we'd be getting a good deal, but now it looks more and more like we're getting dealt a cameo appearance behind his boxing and eventual return to yawnion. If the club agrees to something like that it will demonstrate our loosing of the plot.

                                Chook.
