Overall, the final result went down to three factors.
No.1: Ill Discipline/Completion Rate.
Even though we made it to golden point, we really shouldnt have. I dont think we deserved it. Penalty Count: 9-2. At least half of them were the referees bias, but alot were ill discipline. The thing that got me tonight was our completion rate. I dont know what our final completion rate was, but with 10 minutes to go it was 18/31. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. NOT GOOD ENOUGH AT ALL. 3 errors from Leilua, Minichiello and Aubusson. It was one of the most frustrating games ive watched.
No.2: Referees Decisions.
Some of those decisions.. Wow. Especially the first half. I said it in one of my previous posts, here are all the bad decisions (correct me if wrong)
- The JWH 'high tackle'
- The 'forward pass' leading up to Moga's try.
- The penalty against Mose for 'being in the fight'
And many more. THe penalty count was 9-2. NINE to TWO. As Brian SMith said after the game: 'About 3 of them were ill-disciplined penalties and the rest were bad calls.
No.3 Inability to Kick Field Goals: Wow. Just wow. Pearce had at least 4 shots at goal, all 4 missed. But the one that I am angry about is the kick on the first tackle. Seriously, if it wasnt extra time we would have played out the set, probably would have scored. We should have just tried and if failed, try a field goal on the last tackle. Complete brain explosion.
