Pearce has been in 1st grade for 6/7 years now. He should be one of the most dominant 1/2 backs in the game now, he isn't. In my eyes, he has an above average passing game, an above average kicking game, an average running game and is hot and cold when it comes to guiding a team around the paddock. He went well when paired with a fit Carney in 2010. If he wants to go, I'd let him, although I'd be trying to get some sort of a player trade with the Club he goes to. The player I'd like to see come to the Roosters is Reece Robinson from the faders.

The game plan. Pearce wants a release.

7 years? That means his debut was at 14, hahahahahahaaaaaaaa.
He's been our first choice half-back for 4 and a half seasons, he's only 23 and has been partnered with one good half during his stint (Carney) and never coached at club level by a top line coach.
Everyone really needs to move on from blaming Pearce for us stinking, he's the least of our problems.

Still young though. He's the one that set up 2 of our tries and should of got another one for the 'forward' pass.
I hope the rumours aren't true, or if they are something can be sorted out. He's the type of player that has always seemed to be destined to stay with us long term.
Adam Reynolds is not a messiah. All he does is play his part in his team's system, and just kicks pretty much.

Pearce needs to stay. To think there are infinite players better than him is ridiculous.
The potential candidates being named are from teams at the top of the table, and not because of their halfback or 5/8. When the Roosters were top it was because of Carney, Pearce apparently contributed nothing. Souths have Inglis and a new coach. The Bulldogs have a proven coach and one of the best performing forward packs. Of course the halves a performing. They are performing because their team is, their team is not performing because of them.
I'm glad Smith came to the club. We have a young, talented squad crying out for leadership. Our depth has increased significantly. In an ideal world we would have another coach for next year. I think Smith has taken us as far as he can. The game has moved on. We need structure. We need fitness. You could replace Pearce with Cronk or Thurston tomorrow and it won't improve, we need a new game plan and a new coaching philosophy.

Has played four and a half seasons - only one with a decent 5/8. He is also still very young - easily 7-8 years left in his career.
The jury is out on Pearce at club level until he gets a decent 6 outside him.
The unfortunate thing is that this is likely next year - hope he stays to see how that goes.
