Why would the Rooster players hate Smith?

It's not like he forces them to improve, our completion rates are worse than last year.
It's not like he trains them hard to make them fit.
It's not like he makes them change their style, Jake still does the wattosy 3 times before passing from dummy half.
It's not like he drops them for underperforming, [too many names to mention].
It's not like he blasts them after a 50 point reaming, he actually found a positive from them in the Manly game.
It's not like he rips into them at half time when they are playing poorly.
It's not like he holds the players accountable for their performances.
It's not like he drills them in our so called High Performance Unit.
It's not like he makes them run the same plays over and over and over again to make sure they get them right.

For a bunch of perpetually underperforming, sefl indulgent, tattooed wannabees, Brian Smith is the perfect coach, why would they hate him?

I understand Smith can be overbearing, but surely the above outweighs that little habit? That is of course unless the players must have absolutely everything their way?

Brian Smith should never have been given a 4 year deal. Moronic decision. I know he would have asked for it but that doesn't mean Politis had to give it to him!

2 years and then assess the situation would have been the right timing. Especially as our players are known for tuning out to coaches after a honeymoon period.
