  • Ricky Stuart is right in the frame...

    Gents and ladies,

Just thought I'd share some info I became privvy to late yesterday afternoon. I will keep this simple and concise:

    1. The entire playing staff would like to have a new coach next year;

    and

    2. The coach that is right in the frame for the job, is Ricky Stuart.

I honestly have no idea what our club's board will do, but I am hearing that the Chairman is still a big, big fan of Stuart.

    Regards, The Edge.

PS - to you fcukwits who are about to reply to this thread with attacks, denials, vitriol, venom, put-downs, defense of the indefensible etc etc... I really don't give a crap what you have to say and won't be responding, so save the four words you learnt to spell this year, for another post.

I like the sound of that. Especially the PS part. Goat struggled to get to four this year.

No thanks, despite the fact that he seems to be very good at getting teams motivated and ready for games he lacks a lot to be desired.

His all backrow bench in origin which saw us get absolutely demolished by QLD's go forward should serve as a reminder of what we used to have to put up with. If we had a top level squad with a genuine superstar or two he might be the go but we're not, we're a young team with a lot of developing still to do. We need a strong tactical coach, not a motivator.

Watching Guerra and Cordner play in the front row would be enough to make me loose faith in Rugby League, please let this be bullshit.

I prefer Ricky to smith. I say give him a second chance. Players look up to and respect ricky more than smith.

So do I but should that be the comparison? I don't prefer him to Bellamy.

Why would bellamy leave melbourne for us? He is sitting pretty where he is.

Hahah jeez that made me laugh. Very true statement.half of me wants ricky back as i remember the great times the club had in the good years however god we had some terrible years at the end.

The club has to get rid of Smith.Even though the players seem like spoilt brats whinging about the coach all the time the side has lost it's way and there seems to be no improvement so he has to go. My first preference is bellamy but he will never leave melbourne. I really would like jason taylor to be given a chance, however with a forwards coach such as dean pay ass his assistant. These two have good football brains, both strict men but also the players seem to respond to them. Many of the younger players rave on about taylors coaching.

The club needs to make a decision soon before coaches get snapped up or more players leave and this time they need to get the decision right.

Be good if the bloody chairman got his bronzed arse back here to make some decisions, it really piss's me of how every bloody season he goes away for months, and then the place usually falls apart, stuff greece, get ya arse back here, and make the decisions, re, coach, new players, and no to DSuuart, the old girlfriend analagy posted above is a true on, either give Taylor a year to prove himself, then at least Bellamy will be off contract, if Taylor doesnt work out, I cant see too many other options.

                  Cheers........Burnt Rooster

Ricky Stuart would be too preoccupied with an unfinished project in Origin to give his full attention to coaching a club. In saying that, I'd prefer him to Brian Smith. Big word in Canberra is that he'll be at the Raiders before the year is out.

The drama's of Rugby League and being a Roosters supporter never end!

One thing for certain we'll go back to attracting more profile players.
NSW coach is a big drawing card.

Would they, awww isn't that sweet? How about Nick lets the playing staff pick the coach for next year? Year we can even have a show about the process called "Survivor - Coaching at the Roosters".

Each potential coach is put through a series of challenges by the playing staff:
1 - How to text while training and why it's good for moral.
2 - Alcohol and showing it's benefits in rehab.
3 - How do you divert responsibility from the playing staff.
4 - Why winning is too much pressure on playing staff.
5 - Defence, how to do it without getting your jersey dirty.
6 - Contract extensions, why the worst get preference.
7 - Set plays and why they are a waste of time.
8 - The kick chase - how to let the other guys do it.

The playing staff vote on each coaches ability within each challenge and the votes are tallied with one emerging the winner as Head Coach of the Sydney Roosters. It'll be great viewing and the playing staff wil get the coach of their choice and be happy, cause when it all boils down to it, the playing staff being happy is why the club is here. /end rant

                            Chook.
