Gents and ladies,

Just thought I'd share some info I became privvy to late yesterday afternoon. I will keep this simple and concise:

1. The entire playing staff would like to have a new coach next year;

and

2. The coach that is right in the frame for the job, is Ricky Stuart.

I honestly have no idea what our club's board will do, but I am hearing that the Chairman is still a big, big fan of Stuart.

One question I'd like answered, why, if Smiffs gone as people keep saying they've heard he is, do the posters who hate him with such passion get so upset with those who don't hate the bloke???

I don't get why they'd get so worked up to convince everyone they are right. Why should they care if they trust the info they get enough to post it on a public forum???

I don't see people who are indifferent to Smiff, or like him, making attacks, denials, vitriol, venom, put-downs as you have said they do. I see the opposite every day on the forums.

The posters who hate him seem like they are trying to convince everyone they are right all the time. Some get rather nasty when questioned. Strange thing is they are putting it out there, without a sniff of a source, and fire up when someone dares offer a different opinion on the issue.

I don't even really like Smiff, never really have, but I don't believe our problems all lead to Smiff. I dont doubt he is part of the problem though. I just believe it goes deeper, players and suits included.

I think we are all frustrated and disappointed and some, unfortunately, take the option of blaming it largely on the coach. Easy target.

I always try and salvage some remaining vestage of positivity, otherwise how can we expect the players to do likewise?

I had to slap myself the other day when feeling really down about our last 18 mths.

Time for the players to really put in & show some personal pride, no matter what their personal gripes are.

Not everyone will agree on any issue.

IMO getting heated either way over a player or coach or administrator is wasted venom. I save that for the opposition.

IMO we are all after the same thing.

Sure fun banter is what it's all about, but some of the crap I've read over this issue has been different, it's been as 56 put it almost "agenda" like. That's how it comes across to me anyways.

No offense to anyone on either side of the issue, I just hope for whatever's best to get the club rolling forward again.
