Any players that didn't start in the side that beat Newcastle..should start from the bench..excluding no-one!!
    a quite possible hypothetical:

Mini is fit, skd's game last week warrants selection as does Hauraki...there is only 2 wing positions avaliable, you can only pick 2 players on the wings.......Who do you pick????

    • Tough one..but I'll stick to the winning combo. SKD and Hauraki both had solid games - they both deserve a run-on spot. Unfortunately I would have to start Mini on the bench..

      • Mini is a bloke who is in the starting 17 or not in the 17 at all.

A waste of a bench spot with him on there.

And unless he's 100% fit, I'd rather he'd not be there at all.

The team can't afford to be carrying passengers, especially in our backline.

And if Jones is fit I'd definitely have him in the team - I can't see why some people are bagging the kid. He does whatever Fittler asks of him, plays any position he's put into and gives it a real go. If every player put in the effort this bloke does we wouldn't be vying for the wooden spoon.

        • If Sa is out (I think), and if it a sunny dry day....

SKD could move to the centres - Benji will have a field day
Mini could move to the centres - Benji will have a field day
Williamson could debut in the centres - Benji will have a field day
          OR
Sa could be ok - Benji will have a field day

          • If Mini is fit then he goes straight in on the wing. I don't care who for, he just needs to be there.

                • Wasnt Jones injured 2wks ago???

Havent we named a 5 man bench with Jones on it???

                  Can Mini kick the footy???

Can Mini defend in the front line???

Teddy Wong suggested Jones from the bench as a utility.

                  • You all want to know what the most glaring aspect about this win was?

                    Fittler's interview after the game.

Q - "So Freddie do you see this effort and win coming during the week"
                    F - "nope"

Q - " What do you say to the frustrated Rooster fans asking where has this form been all year?"
F - "Nothing, we just [cliche cliche cliche]"

Q - "Did the win have special significance for you, getting one up over Brian Smith"
                    F - "Nope"

I didn't listen to anymore as it was obvious Fittler had no farking clue why the team played like they did.

I love Freddie but he aint a coaches bootlace.

                    • I only lasted 2 minutes before closing out Chook, when I realised that Fittler was doing his best Wayne Bennett impersonation for the media and that there was nothing to be gained from listening to the rest.

If only he had the bloke's coaching skills.

The end of the season obviously can't come quick enough for Fittler.

                      • I missed that post-match interview but I have seen others and Freddy's approach and behaviour now are totally different to late 2007. As you guys have said, he certainly looks like he doesn't want to be there and unfortunately he's also shown as a coach he has much to learn.
