  • Mosoe

We can no longer carry him in our first grade side. He plays minimal minutes and has little impact when he is actually on the field. Some basic changes need to be made to this team and I think it would make the world of difference. Something like this:

    Mini
    Moga
    Leliua
    SKD
    Carney/RTS/Alofa
    Anasta
    Pearce
    JWH
    Friend
    Kennedy
    Guerra
    Takarangi
    Cordner

    Seluni
    Tasi
    Evans/Napa
    FPN

Evans would offer a hell of a lot more than Mosquitoe, Bwian won't let it happen though.

I agree about Mose but to me it's all got to do with the coaching. Look at Adam Blair. Used to be a big time player for the Storm and now gone to the Tigers and is nothing. Sure there are many factors but how a player is inspired to perform comes a lot from the coach. if we lose Mose, then it'll bite us back, like George Rose.

He's crap. End of. Coaching doesn't make you look interested out there, nor does it get rid of the trainers and lack of heart. Last night I saw him:
          • Take three tackles to get back onside once.
          • Three or four times where it took him two tackles to get back onside.
          • In both instances he was always the last to get back on side.
          • Went four sets of six without taking a hitup.
          • A number of times it was one or two sets of six where he didn't take a hitup.
          • In both instances he didn't put his hand up for a run, or was hiding out in the centres, or managed to hang around the back like a lost little fullback trying to be inconspicuous.

I'm not blaming him for the loss, but this happens every game.

I've checked a number of sites that says he is off contract at the end of this year which gives me hope. There's also no mention of it on the Roosters site and I went back as far as our last grand final.

he always seems to get caught out at marker and called out by the ref to stay out of it and then gives away 10 -15 metres. isaac luke was toying with him last night

i have always said that Mose is an impact player - he needs to come out firing late in the first / second half i.e. 25-30 minute mark of each half and smash everyone in sight.

if used correctly, he is a huge weapon for us.

why he started yesterday astounds me...

Do your research. He is here until 2015.

Point still stands. He's crap. And these quotes from him just solidify my feelings:

“I used to always feel sorry for hurting other kids and stuff like that,” Masoe says.

“It’s not in my nature to hurt someone on the field. I used to apologise to any of the kids when I smashed them. I hurt a couple of people when I was in the under-20s. Sometimes when they got knocked out from a hit… that’s the scariest because you don’t know [if they’re OK]. When you see them dazed or knocked out, you feel sorry for them.”

Things got so bad Roosters coach Brian Smith had him see a sports psychologist to get him in a different frame of mind on the field.

“It was because I had a couple of games where I wasn’t as dominant

as I was earlier in my first grade career,” Masoe says.

“Once I smashed one person and I felt sorry for them for the rest of the game and it takes my mind off the game.

“Normally I just have to pretend that I’m someone else on the field. I used to watch players like Ruben Wiki and I just think to myself, All right, today you’ve just got to play like Ruben Wiki.
He doesn't play like Ruben Wiki. It's not a game for pansies - you go out there to brutalise the opposition. He's not Shillo. He's Dane Carlaw. Built like Tarzan plays like Jane.

                    p.s.
                    Maybe your research is wrong:

Poor old loveable Mose is like Lennie from Of Mouse and Men.

                      Too gentle for pro football.

One of these days he's going to accidentally kill someone from a kick off.

Agreed!! We cannot carry him any longer. Sure, he can pull of a big hit every now and then but that simply doesnt cut it!! Especially if his inclusion is keeping Taka out of the 1st grade team

True. He used to be known as "Shillo the Pillow".
But he was mentored by the great Adrian Morely when he broke into first grade and he hasnt looked back, playing in the toughest competition in SOO.

The team is crying out for a forward leader with experience who can mentor these young players, to tell JWH to pull his head in when needed, reassure Masoe its ok to trample the opposition into the ground if they are in your way.
