  • Daniel Anderson on winning

Daniel Anderson writing on how to win games like we lost.

    http://www.nrl.com/how-do-you-defend...5/default.aspx

My wish is that he brings those ideas to our club.

Daniel Anderson is worse than Smith.

He's been given the punt a few times himself.

His premiership tally is the same as Smith's.

He also has a reputation for getting offside with the playing group.

Which is completely understandable because he's about as likeable as genital warts.

And don't bother me with your pommy stats either.

          They don't count.

We don't want who is "better".

            We want the best.

Is that the bagman? Bellamy has won nothing either. Officially.

Like what he did with Hayne? He just said what everyone else was thinking. Hayne had a big sook about it but ended up playing almost as good as he had ever done in his entire career.

I, for one, don't care if the players are told a few hometruths every now and then. For too long the players have had the run of this place. Time to make it about the coach again. Just like it was when Sticky was in charge. Just like it was when Gould was in charge. Just like what happened with Bennett at St George and the Broncos, Bellamy at Melbourne and Hasler at both the Dogs and Manly.

Why don't we bring in Charlie Sheens to teach them about winning?

Believe it or not Greeds but alot of players never liked big Jack. He had a saying that the hardest thing for him as a coach was keeping the 8 who disliked him away from the 8 that were not sure.
Management & admin today are all to accommadating towards the players happiness. Nice guy coaches dont get far, ask Steve Kearny.
Im not an Anderson fan but the guy has taken 2 different clubs to GF's. He hasnt won a comp but he has done better than plenty of others.

I don't necessarily believe that getting told the hometruths is the issue. As you said, Dessy, Bennett and Bellamy certainly wouldn't be afraid to let a player know they are playing like a busted...

Maybe the issue with Smith, Anderson and co is the way they address these situations.

Then again, Smith could be bff's with the whole squad as far as I know.
Who's to say there's an issue at all, except from a couple of farrkwit journalists, fred and Cheyse Blair's dad?

There seems to some thought as to Bellamy coming here in 2014.
If so, who the hell would want to be the interim coach, if Smith is punted?
If JT got wind of Bellamy coming he would be nuts to hang around here if offered something more like a permanent position.
                            So, who is left?
Anderson? Would he take it, knowing that it is only for one year?

Seems like our "hole" is getting bigger & bigger.

Then again, Brian might turn it all around & see out his contract, after winning the remainder of the games this year & take us to a premiership next year.

                            Time for a drink.
                            My head hurts.

For mine, I liked the way Anderson simplified things in his article, no rocket science needed. I believe many points were raised early in the year on this forum that our team was unfit, slow and overweight. Point 4 particularly resonated well with me. I've always thought the best form of defense is attack.

I wouldn't mind Anderson here - I think he and Jason Taylor would make an excellent combination with the players we have, Maloney coming and the obvious talent in NYC.

By the way Greedy666 - who would you like to see as coach?
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".
