The match review committee sets the grading but the judiciary are ex players who usually see things from a different perspective. Maguire is very smart, by coming out and criticizing Price the dragons coach for inciting hysteria in the media with his negative comments, he is using the hype and trial by media card to support their case about the extent of the grading.

I wouldn't go as far as smart, but cynical and manipulative yes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Inglis does get downgraded and miss a week or two only. But if so let it be on the record that as far as shoulder charges gone wrong go, they don't get any worse than that one by Inglis. The precedent will be set and should be available to use as a defence by any future player/club - the worst you can get for a shoulder charge to the head, even of the worst kind, is 1-2 weeks. If the judiciary wants to go down that route, then it is there in black and white as a precedent. And I don't think 1-2 weeks will be a significant deterrent - if anything, it will encourage the head high shoulder charge. If somebody is seriously and permanently injured, the judiciary members can claim credit for it.

To be fair it was not 4 weeks worse than JWH shoulder charge, he knocked out Ben Ross who missed a week with servere concussion. How do you grade these things, very inconsistent, than they give Burns 17 weeks lol and he didn't knock the feather off Marty shoulder lol.

That dirty low life scumbag wannabe grub inglis deserves MORE than 4 weeks for that cowardly and premeditated hit on Young.
I was wanting to see someone, anyone, in st merge drop inglis with an upper cut after what inglis did to their player.

As for that other tool tburns, rot on the sidelines for at least 3 months you dropkick.
And while I'm at it, sam kasiano, meet Karma, Karma, say hi to big sam from Fui Fui.

I'm guessing that you don't know your not allowed to use precedent in your evidence at a judiciary hearing. Each case 'has to be judged on it's own merits', and you that means can't use any other incidents, or their outcomes, in your defence. Anything that has happened before is considered irrelevant.

                I don't doubt you're right.

And yet there exist refereeing "tip sheets", introduced by Robert Finch (Dragons ex player and father of jilted ex rooster Brett), that instruct the referees, even before they take the field that for example teams like the roosters are a bunch of cheats and don't hesitate to penalize them. So the actual games are not judged on their merits.

LOL. What part of my comment makes you think I'm crazy?
I'm fired up about this because I'm sick of inglis' cheap shots and he needs to have that thuggery taken out of his game.
And by the way, you strike me as being close to apologetic for inglis which makes me think you DO sit alone in very dark rooms blah blah blah ...
