JWH for my liking - a international feared by many well liked by players can relate to his fell bro's and besides it would impact on his somewhat ill temper - as a captain refs may respect him more. I recall in beetsons early years at easts that gronks like ref Keith page and yappy Holman gave Artie a hard time - it all changed once jack Gibson made him captain - he could see his leadership abilities outside the negatives and I see the same with Jared

Yep sounds dumb, but when noyce was talking to jimmy smith on sports sunday he was pretty keen on the idea. to me it shows that nobody in the club is capable of it yet.

Regarding our captain for next year, James Maloney, two things have come to light.

1. He'll be here a few weeks early.

2. I may be looking at him like he's a piece of Cajun chocolate cake after eating the shit that Anasta has forced down my throat, Veronica Moser style, but he looks like an absolute weapon to me.

I still think Pearce could possibly be a long term captain that's only if we get a new coach and the team starts to become a team discipline and structure A must if we get both a new coach and a good preseason which puts abit of structure and direction in place Id be happy with Pearce and JWH as co captains or even Pearce and Boyd... Boyd for the off field stuff

As much as SBW will bring to the team he is still a mercenary, you don't give the club captaincy to a mercenary.
