Forget about this coaching director bs- it's just an excuse for people like Gould to shove wads of cash in his pocket.
I'd say appoint Taylor for next year, get rid of Elliot and Smith. But Taylor on one proviso he does not under any circumstance get dressed up in some fu.king super heroes suit.
Get back to basics-buy a couple of hard working tackling forwards; spend the whole summer getting fit and piss off any player that complains about the fu.king coach.
As well, I agree about appointing a new ceo.
And a contract is a contract. You sign for 3 years -you're there for 3 years. It is the Eastern Suburbs for fu.k's sake. There are worse places to train and hangout.

Bernie Gurr would be a Gods send as replacement CEO. Former Easts player, astute businessman, at the helm in 2002. Straight shooter, no nonsense leader, who players grow to respect.

Pension-off Smith & Noyce. Their man management styles are simply out of vogue.

Bingo.. you need the head coach to be 100% accountable for performance.. This coaching director crap is an excuse for people like Gould to collect big money and bask in any glory but deflect failure.

Correct.. Guys like Gurr and Canavan obviously had the ability to influence Nick's decision making.. Noyce is simply a yes man.

I see the report as half bullshit
I reckon Gould wants to coach again and its money motivated for sure he can now earn twice as much coaching than a Tv commentator and it wont be till 2014 .Also Bellamys price for on emill is a bit rich.

Gus is too proud to leave before he's achieved what he's set out at Penrith.....

His Nine contract does end at the end of this year though doesn't it??

Oh he wont leave Penrith until his mission at GM is accomplished so he would be looking at 2014.
By all counts he actually is not enjoying the position and will be looking for a replacement.
for my Money cleary made a blunder joining Penrith .If he was in charge of NZ he would be looking at a premiership -he shouldve at least stayed there one more year.
Dont forget it was gould who organised teh whole Brian Smith thing for us.

Gould can get farked. He's shown us no loyalty and has bagged us out every chance he got. Why should we fund a second reirement for the prick.

                      Chook.

And Nine may not get the rights to the footy post 2013. Where would that leave Gould? Without a TV gig and more time on his hands?
