Why don't we consider implementing a one captain system based on picking someone who can play fkn footy

That would make way too much sense.. Souths have a stack of experienced players and have made it work.. Having guys who are sadly out of form and inexperienced in the leadership group makes no sense at all... Pick one guy and make him Captain and leave it at that... Imagine Maubs, Mini, Kennedy and Friend performing next season like they are this year or even worse but being picked every week because they are part of a stupid 5 man captaincy team.

- coin toss
- Whinge to ref
- Ref tells you to tell the team to be more disciplined
- Fire up every now and then when the team huddles after a try

Mini can the captain of missing tackles.
Jake Friend can be the captain of the blind side.
SKD can be captain of woeful defence reads.
Maubs could be captain of the dropped ball.
Smith can be captain of the empty trophy cabinet.

having Mini take over for one year is pointless, just means we will be in the same situation 12 months from now, best thing we could do is extend Cordners contract and hand the reigns over to him, he is putting the majority of the squad to shame busting his gut every week when 3/4's of the squad is dogging it.

Aubusson is having his worst year, but you can see why: he's not better than any of our back rowers and not really a centre, but he can be asked to play in any of those spots in any given week ... or come off the bench. What's his role now?
