to be fair weren't those players contracts expiring in the current year? Do we even know if the club have made him a formal offer?

His manager has said that they won't be discussing contracts until the TV deal comes out and how that will affect the salary cap.
I think most players coming off contract next year are in the same boat. I can't see what the big deal is.

Pearce might be super happy with Smith and the Roosters but I, in my own personal opinion, am not very bloody happy with Mr. Pearce.

I am a close friend and he is eyeing a move away with them the front runners.
Parramatta are close second to his signature but with having Sandow there it is a little awkward unless he gets a release to another club.

Pearce will give it 6-8 weeks into 2013, if we are still a rabble under Smith he will go elsewhere, if we are playing better and he is told who the coach is for 2014 and approves he will stay, anything else is just pure speculation until that time.
