  • Tasi dropped on the weekend

interesting to see that Tasi played for the jets on the weekend, I thought he was out injured with an AC joint injury, looks like he might have fallen out with Smith, its no secret he is the target for the Bullscum in 2014, hopefully it doesn't become another situation like Perrett.

on another note, i'm not sure why the club insists on players playing at Newtown when they are carrying niggling injuries that deem them unfit to play for the top grade, Masoe/Bosden would benefit from time off to heal serious injuries yet they are slogging it out at Newtown when there is little to gain.

Because our whole youth policy is based on getting this group to 50-150 games of first or reserve grade Footy at around the same time.

They wouldn't play them if the dr said not to and they are all out of form. Tasi was dropped for underperformance not fighting with the coach

Geez you jump to some conclusions. Tasi plays one game for Newtown and he has "fallen out with Smith"?

Find it interesting that Smith prefers to offload-happy Nuuausala and Takairangi over the more hitup-oriented Tasi and Masoe. Kennedy and Hargreaves are the pillars of our front row. I honestly think it is better now that Nuuausala and Takairangi are out of the backrow rotation. Guerra, Aubusson, Cordner and Arona are four genuine and effective backrowers who all do their jobs well, and maintain a good balance. Guerra and Aubusson play 80 minutes on either fringe, and Cordner/Arona interchange in the lock-forward role, with Cordner being more offensively gifted with his powerful running game and offload, and Arona being a great workhorse in the tougher periods of the game.

By playing Taka and FPN in the front row, it forces them to actually use their considerable size and physical attributes to take the ball up hard, as opposed to bludging in the centres and wasting their time on the field. If they do slack off, they know that we have two proven first grade standard props in Tasi and Masoe waiting in the wings, as well as potential talents Kane Evans and Dylan Napa.

Taka and FPN are obviously very gifted players, even moreso than Tasi and Masoe, as they have been blessed with ball skills for props. This is a rare and cherished attribute, but unfortunately without the mental approach to support it, they can go MIA, which we simply can't afford.

Maybe Smith just wanted Tasi to get a good long hitout under his belt. From memory, he's been playing limited minutes recently.

Does Tasi qualify to play for the Jets in the finals if they make it? That could be another reason why if he's close to becoming eligible.

Tasi should be a permanent member of the team from 2013 BUT it's best to drop him so he learns his place in the team.

Tasi trained with First Grade today, big smile on his face as always!

His form has been below par so a stint for the Jets would have done him some good.

Just about to say the same thing Vas. He's underperformed all year after having shown so much potential last year.

Exactly, aubo friend and anasta should'v got dropped if that was the case. Maybe it was just his turn in smiths 'rooster shuffle'
                        Is that the full story,
                        or is your news limited?

I thought at the start of this year Tasi was "the next big thing" for our team.

Still think he has a lot of potential....hope he stays and gets back in the groove with us.

Our front row has been my biggest disappointment this year (relative to expectation). I expected Tasi, Kennedy and Mosoe to perform a lot better than what they have. The fact that FPN has been pushed up into the front row says a lot.

I think both Tasi and Kennedy will come good. I'm not as optimistic for Masoe.

Interestingly FPN was our starting front rower in each of the three semis which we won in 2010. On potential we have one of the best front row stock in the NRL. They have been a massive disappointment this year. Evans, Napa or Tago can easily work their way into the team next year if the others don't pick up their game.
