    From Wikipedia:

    Coaching career

Following his retirement as a player in 1996, Potter started his coaching career as assistant coach for the English Super League team, Bradford Bulls, alongside Matthew Elliot. He remained there until 1999 when he took over the coaching position for the New South Wales Under-17 squad, coaching them to consecutive wins over Queensland.[2]

Potter coached St. George Illawarra's Premier League side for four years before being appointed in February 2006 as Head Coach for the French rugby league team Catalans Dragons, succeeding Steve Deakin.[2] Potter coached the team to the 2007 Challenge Cup Final and in 2008 was named Super League coach of the year.

Potter succeeded Daniel Anderson as head coach of St Helens at the beginning of the 2009 season.[3]

In May 2010 he announced that he is to leave St. Helens at the end of the 2010 season. In July 2010 Potter signed a 2 year contract to return to Bradford Bulls, this time as head coach, commencing 2011.
I remember reading recently that he was sacked from Bradford because they were broke & couldn't afford him, so he just said he'd coach them for free for the rest of the season, sounds pretty remarkable, but apparently true. He was a really good player I seem to recall, I'd never really thought about him, but I must say that for a Parramatta boy, I like the cut of his jib!

We need to get right away from any Brian Smith influence.

We need winners a la circa 2002.

Well we've already tried Freddy, that didn't really work out did it? Fitzy & Mini are still here, that's not really going so good. Apparently Dean Pay is ready for an NRL Head Coaching job, I vote for him!

I was talking about coaches, not players.

I could see Dean Pay coaching us next year for sure.
Our defence would improve out of sight
As for Potter, good coach. I remember he coached the Dragooons lower grades to I think 3 successive titles but got ovderlooked for the head job so he went to the old dart. Has had plenty of success over there
