And don't write off Jones and Anasta at 5/8, I'd be surprised if the Todd the drunk lasts the offseason without incident and the NRL will have no problem in deregistering him or giving him a lengthy suspension whether the Roosters like it or not if he steps one foot out of line.
He's one player they don't have a lot of tolerance for, and with good reason.

Carney has to get through the offseason first unscathed - so winning or losing may not be an issue.
And in any case Carney won't remember or care whether we're winning or losing when he's down the pub getting pissed.
In case you haven't realised, he's not a team player. He's a selfish little shit who only cares about himself.
And given the Roosters already have more than enough players with that attitude, I don't reckon we need to add more to the mix.
NCSupporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

9. Jake Friend
10. FP Nuuausala
11. Willie Mason
12. Nate Myles (we will need him to make 30+ tackles a game)
13. Braith Anasta
14. Ben Jones (comes onto the field as a roving centre with Morbs to the pack, or replaces Friend in a straight swap)
15. Tom Symonds
16. Anthony Cherrington
17. Stanley Waqa
18. Jared Warea-Hargreaves (prop for Jets)
19. Mose Masoe/Martin Kennedy (prop for Jets - pick one of these blokes in the top squad and have the other retained as a Jets contracted player)
20. Daniel Conn (backrow for Jets)
21. Nick Kouparitsas (backrow for Jets)
22. Setaimata Sa (five-eighth for Jets - needs a kick up the backside)
23. James Aubusson (hooker for Jets - needs to play himself back into fitness and form)
24. Sisa Waqa (wing/centre for Jets)
25. Sonny Tuigamala/Iwi Hauraki/Smith Samau/Luke Towers (fullback/wing for Jets - we should only have one of these blokes in the top squad, with the others retained as Jets-contracted second tier players)
Ryan Williamson, Boyd Cordner, JP Du Plessis, Joseph Leilua, Cheyse Blair and the other young blokes should be contracted as U20's players, unless Phil Graham doesn't come, in which case I'd like to see Williamson in the top 25 definitely.
Jorbs and Jones both can cover hooker and halves, Braith can always shift to the halves too if required. We should use our U20s players sparingly, I would think Williamson and Waqa would get opportunities with Perrett and SKD possibly being absent for the ANZAC Test, and Graham getting his yearly 6-7 week injury. Conn and Koops would be solid for depth players, but I think we have a strong enough forward pack to not have to reply on either of them substantially.
People need to remember that Hauraki and Moujalli are both not Roosters-contracted players currently, they are Jets players who happened to be pulled from reserve-grade to play for us. It eats into our second-tier cap every time we use a player outside of our top squad. However, if Hauraki continues to impress, he may oust current Roosters-contracted players Sonny Tuigamala and Smith Samau for a spot in the top 25 next season.

I can imagine, with Carney coming, we will be something like:

On the field, he could provide us with plenty of options. More than what Anasta can provide with the ball.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Jones will be a waste of a bench spot. I'd rather see someone like Conn in there. Realistically you are going to get more work out of him.
Stanley Waqa out to the Jets, he hasn't been all that flash for me to give him a guaranteed bench spot. I'd rather give it to Warea-Hargreaves and let him build up his playing time over the season - similar how Tim Mannah has been used for Parra this season.

The kid has had problems, yeah thats there for everyone to see, there is no denying that.
bit the question is, have we heard anything about carney in the past year and a half???
from all reports, Todd has had to work and earn money like an everyday person, every day he has been face to face with people in a small country town.
People in small country towns know everything about each other so you can imagine the spotlight he would have walked into.
This kid has had to EARN the trust and respect of his employers, customers and locals and by all accounts he has.
This by all accounts has been a wake up call for young todd and you will be suprised how a dose of the real world will change a person.
