Damn, I thought it was 100% reliable that Brad Arthur had the coaching gig for us in 2013. Or was it Trent Robinson, hang on maybe Mick Potter or Wally Lewis or back to captain coach ???? Been too many I cant keep up.

Anyway, Politis threw the cheque book to the scientist that developed Dolly the sheep...and they are working around the clock to ensure that by 2014 there is a clone of the old master ready to take the reins at Bondi.
John Wayne will be the defense coach and Walt Disney will be the director of marketing and Gus will have a full crop of lustrous red hair again, and will oversee the whole operation.

Originally posted by The Edge View PostHere is the scoop of a lifetime. Firstly, before you read what I am going to say and start planning your attacking response, just read this:
Gus Gould on coaching NSW: "If they're looking for a decision now for me to coach Origin, the answer would have to be no," Gould said. My situation could change dramatically in the next six months if they were prepared to wait but that may not fit into their timetable. I don't know what my life holds in the next 12 months. I don't know where the broadcast rights are going, whether I will be working in media, what the Panthers' situation will be like in that time."
Ladies and gentlement, we missed out on Ricky Stuart despite high-level interest in both camps, simply because Ricky couldn't wait one more year to get back into the club coaching game. The job here was his, if he was prepared to wait until 2014, so I am told. Why: because the Board does not want to sack another coach at this point in time.
From 2014, however, I am also told by an impeccable source - and no to the few dullards who will reply asking me to name my source, no - that the powers that be who run this place (not just the Chairman) want Easts to start winning premierships regularly, have had enough.
They have also woken up to who is available to run the joint as football "supremo". This supremo will effectively be the GM of football operations, and will be empowered to put in place a coaching staff as he sees fit.
This football supremo will basically be given the job for life, as long as the results trend the right way. This person is on our radar. We are on this person's radar. This person has served an apprenticeship running a football club and tough decisions have been made out there.... tough decisions that will ultimately benefit that joint after the lunatics finally realise they don't run the asylum.
From 2014, ladies and gents, there will be a new dawn at Bondi Junction. The person that saved the joint once before will be back. And this time he will mean business.
I think that will be a step backwards signing Gould.
Look what his done at penrith.
They will win the spoon, also how many players have left.
I think his got his hands in too many roles.
If he comes to Easts he must only have this job, no media and
concentrate on the roosters only.
I don't rate Gould, I'd personally like to see a dymock or Taylor coach us.
That's just my opinion.

Graham Murray, I'm also advised, is keen for a return and will save us too. I have also heard that a coaching triage of Freddy, Lozza and Bazza are available, though Jimmy Dymock is the front-runner. Craig Bellamy is mooted to become on-field trainer, and Geoff Toovey, Jason Taylor, Terry Lamb and Arthur 'Pony' Halloway will be backs coaches. Dean Pay is back as forwards coach alongside Royce Ayliffe and Sandy Pearce. Russell Fairfax will be brought on board as special "fullback mentor" for young RTS and Mark Murray is mooted to become tactics coach (couldn't do worse than Smithy).
.............seriously though, who would turn down Gus!
the real question is
Who should have any confidence in Gus?

He attracted some very good players who folded like a pack of cards when the blowtorch was applied in finals footy because they didn't bleed RWB and were only here for the cash.

Dymock must be our coach. We dont need Gould to attract players. Oh wait Gould attracts superstars like Naiqama, O donnell, Latimore.
The only reason I want him at our club because he can get us winning again. Yes Penrith arent doing any well but think about it. Hes got Cleary, and made some good signings(not the ones mentioned above) such as Whare, Manu and they might snare JT. He can make us a good team the problem is Penrith dont have a good side. Next year they will dominate you watch with the changes hes made.
Also we have stuff Penrith dont have. Loads of $$$$$$, future superstars such as Moga and RTS, better forward pack and Nick Politis. He can get us Bellamy and maybe another superstar. And for his power to attract players thats not really a reason why because if he gets Bellamy he will turn our team into great players and get us a superstar for us to build around.
Yes to Gus Gould
