Craig Bellamy is mooted to become on-field trainer, and Geoff Toovey, Jason Taylor, Terry Lamb and Arthur 'Pony' Halloway will be backs coaches. Dean Pay is back as forwards coach alongside Royce Ayliffe and Sandy Pearce. Russell Fairfax will be brought on board as special "fullback mentor" for young RTS and Mark Murray is mooted to become tactics coach (couldn't do worse than Smithy).

Done deals with handshake agreements I'm hearing.

On topic, Gould has and always will prefers the riff. I hope he retires there after winning the battle out west against gws and the AFL.
      Is that the full story,
      or is your news limited?

how dull has that battle been?
parra and penriff coming last and second last versus gws coming last.
if it wasnt for the bullwogs, west of sydney would be afl heartland now.

Lol to everyone bagging my post. If you kept reading it would say to attract players. It is a quality of his. But we dont need him. What I mean is we do need him to run our club. If the only reason was for him to attract players we souldnt need him but we do need him to run our club as it is in shambles. Of course its good to attract players but hd can attract coaches like Bellamy who can turn us into a benchmark team. We do need him to attract 1 quality player though someone like a Lyon or Thurston type player.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the humourous, rather than savagely attacking, tone of the reply to this news...

I'd just like to point out something to all of us as to why I believe there is genuine validity to the goss that Gus will be here...

There is a new broadcasting deal of well over a billion bucks about to be signed later this year for the game...

This means a lot more TV money funding our club (happily this means less Easts Group grants being paid so our golden egg of assets can keep churning out better facilities for members... but it doesn't mean the Easts Group won't also be pouring in 'dividends' to the football club parent company as required)...

The new TV deal will mean Easts are in a position to pay absolute TOP COIN for whoever we want to run this place...

Basically, Easts will be in a position soon to offer the deal of a lifetime to whoever we want to run this joint from a footballing perspective... And Nick, the Board, and Gyngell will make sure they get the person they want...

Lastly, a certain former flame-haired coach and now greying CEO of another club, will go WHERE THE TOP COIN IS.

Penrith have actually been steered back on course where they need to go in future, and I predict Ivan Cleary will stay out there and step up, and take charge of the place. I think Gus's job at Penrith was to get a long term future super coach into the place. Job done.

Gus will come home to Easts under the right conditions. And post new TV-deal, the conditions will be right!

            Stay tuned....

Gus would excel walking into the talent we are assembling at the moment.
So would Bellamy if he is chasing dollars to coax him from bleak city.
              Either will do me.
Good to see Uncle Nick is still being pro active and chasing the best available...

                  Gus MC
ROBBIE FARAH'S Mates on a Mission charity raised $70,000 for kids with heart issues and Farah showed what a decent man he is by fronting on the night straight after playing the Dragons. He was grateful that Benji Marshall covered for him at the post-match interviews to allow him to get to the event. But special mention should be made of Phil Gould, who hosted the night. The entertainers were all paid, but Gould refused. "I asked my manager Sam Ayoub to approach Gus about paying him because it was fair," Farah said. But there was no way he'd take a cent. "Gus is a quality person and when we offered him a fee he just said he had enough jobs." Gould did a great job - the highlight when he made the room stand, hold hands and say a prayer - that the Panthers would not get the wooden spoon.

Yep it's all about cash with Gus.

                  The FlogPen .

                  You know it makes sense.
