  • Congratualtions to Daniel Tupou

Well deserved debut being the second highest try scorer in the NSW Cup.

I thought he played reasonably well, a bit quiet in the second half. Showed great awareness to catch the ball almost over the sideline when Raiders kicked for touch. Big strong kid, hopefully he takes a lot out of the experience.

No doubt this thread will head the direction of "he's rubbish", "go back to the Jets" type posts but good luck to him. Hopefully gets another run this weekend.

I do like the fact that he is tall and can score tries. We don't often get wingers like that at The Roosters.

unfortunately he strained a calf muscle in the second half and was replaced at around the 60 minute mark, love the way he showed no fear returning the ball, definately worth persisting with over the off season.

He is definitely a keeper. The depth in our outside backs is good. Hopefully Moga comes out next year and has adapted to the speed of FG.
Henry, Moga, Topou, RTS, BJ, Oldfield, Tangivae all very young and throw in SKD( hopefully with 2010 form ) sets us up for a promising year ahead.
If Maloney can take pressure off Pearce to be the only creative option (little stab at our beloved skipper there) I see a very exciting brand of footy we can play as long as the piggys do there job

A reasonable explanation as to why he was quiet in the second half!

Is Blake Ferguson a sppedster, sure made Moga look like he was in second gear when he ran away from him to score?

That usually happens when he breaks wind!

Remember in 2011 when Mark Kheirallah on debut ran down Ferguson from behind from centre field within about 50m. That shows how quick Killer is cos Moga is not slow. Granted he's quicker when moving around an opposition player compared to in the open. There was one instance on saturday night off a scrum win that Moga skirted easy as you like around Ferguson. Hopefully with Maloney here next year he will get a bit more early ball close to the line, preferably off a set play for once.

Btw both of the tries down Moga's edge were caused by Anasta defensive errors imo. Bit rough to have too big a go at an 18 year old who had his man covered and because Anasta didn't trust him and lacks any speed he had to try and cover his arse.

unfortunately maloney is a worse defender than braith so cld be the same problem next yr.

Fair enough Briath is a dick. But....Moga's age is no excuse. If he is good enough to play with men than he needs to play like a man no matter how old he is.

Whichever side Maloney defends on next year will be a target if Moga and SKD are in the centres. Maloney would be on the inside of either of these guys and that spells trouble.

Thats why maloney will be defending between leilua and guerra on the left edge with moga on the left wing. sounds pretty good to me....
