Almost every great player that has ever laced up a boot for our club was a pisshead. Most of the team of the century for the Roosters would be run out of the league in today's media climate.

Honestly, having a sook about players drinking is just pathetic. They all drink, they are all ALLOWED to drink, and as such you should all shut the **** up about it.

Most of the dickheads who complain about players getting on the sauce are probably incapable of stopping drinking themselves. In fact, I challenge The Count, fred68, and any of the other wowser brigade to give up drinking and going out completely until the end of the finals series. Hold yourselves to the same standard you expect the players to meet or shut up

Lol! I hadn't heard that one before!

at least 6 of our starting line up were getting drunk the sunday after the pathetic loss to parra.

So much for brian smith cleaning our club up. The biggest spin you will ever hear.
A number of our players were seen out drunk on the Wednesday night before the Parra game totally smashed.

How would we cope with a year like this one?
          I know I wouldn't without alcomahol.

I'm all for the players having a drink post match.

              But this is inexcusable.

              Our performance against them showed.

That wasn't the story I heard, if so I apologise for spreading scurrilous rumours, sure would explain how they played that day though!

In fact one of the worst offenders didn't end up playing, I wonder if this is where he injured himself. Another plays like his head is on another planet for 78 minutes of the game.

the following day what should our players be doing?

drinking their sorrows away? resting up and gearing up for a big week of training to get a win and win back some pride??

well..at least i have some idea and can actually wake up to the reality of why our team is so sh1t.

last night i was dining at Bondi Pizza Bar with friends - we had an outside table (we just watched Manly destroy the knights a few hrs earlier) and to my dismay i see 2 of our players running down the street like drunken gooses (not the first time i have seen 1 of them like this only 100meteres up the road previously - the last time 1 of them was with the captain of our club outside ravesis, boozing with 2 of the same players i saw last night - fortunately BA was not there this time and he is off anyway).

As a platinum member of our club, it saddens me that i actually am naive to think our players actually give a sh1t. Yes 1 or 2 dont always have to ruin it for everyone else but i am sick of our players taking the p1ss like they actually give a sh1t. both are starting XIII players.

1 of them is getting paid $300k + and has been injured most of the year and his form of late has not been too impressive.
the other is 1 of our most penalised players and recently re signed with the club.

both players are now in my target range for a verbal spray and they both got one last night from me too..they are a disgrace.

Professional rugby league players should be looking after themselves and they owe it to the fans who pay good money to watch them be professionals.

i know that there is a lot of talk that next year we have lots to look forward to, the season is over for them they have nothing to play for etc etc well last night p1sed me off and i think our fellow rooster fans deserve to know that there are some players who turn up to get their pay cheque and some who play for the pride in the jersey.
                    Get a life you snob.
They are young blokes and they are allowed to enjoy themselves outside of work.
Do you want them to sit home and do nothing just because they are playing for a rubbish team.
                    Were they drink driving? NO
                    Were they bashing women? NO
                    Were they taking drugs? NO
Were they abusing members of the public? NO
                    Were they violent? NO
                    Were they raping women?NO

Count, I assume you were once young or you are still young.
The thing I find most suprising about your post....you say you have friends!

it worked for Carney and it worked for the club.

just dont drink alcohol during the season.

                      its simple really.
If you believe for one second that Carney never drank in 2010 then you're an even bigger idiot than this thread you posted suggests!

I don't mind the players having a drink on Sunday night but running down the street and carrying on like a clown is another matter altogether. When they are out in public, whether they like it or not they are representing the club.

Thats not the point. It was squarely aimed at rothfield's best mate, Fred.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.

                              no surprise.

whats surprising is the number of fools who think that smith has actually cleaned the club up
