No Mark Murray followed by Fairfax & then Smithy have been our best.

I love Rusty Fairfax like a brother (our families know of each other) but even he admitted he didn't have the chops to coach.

And Smith, I think has been unlucky in the extreme. Screwed in 2010 and up against sides on a tear in other grand finals. I think he might finally jag it next year with our side.

But Mark Murray...he was awful. Seriously.

Obviously you have never heard of Jack Gibson? Unless this is some poor excuse of a wind up, if not I suggest you check your history books and give yourself a reality check. Fairaix - brilliant player but not a coaches backside, Murray (either one, not worthy of a comment) - next, Smith - the sooner he's gone the better, simple as that.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

007 of course I am winding anyone up who is stupid enough to get wound up by such a stupid statement.

Refer to chook 56 post above

It's a gamble by the club to go up the path of a youth policy & to stick with Smith but you have to commend the board for staying loyal to Smith & not buckling because the supporters are not happy. I dont know who said it but a famous coach once said 'you dont coach the team to keep the fans happy".

Des wasnt instanly successful & either was Cleary over in NZ they were both given at least 4 years before they were judged & after about that time they got results.

But if it was up to me I would talk Smith into handing the reins over to Taylor & getting Smith to take on a consultancy role.
I have faith in our youth plan mate and I believe we have a very good roster and next year it will be a great roster!! I have 'no' faith at all in Smiffy and Son!! Keep the plan, just get rid of Smiffy and his entourage!!

Imo next year we will have a roster good enough to win the premiership, we won't though if Smiffy and Son are at the helm!!

Des was instantly successful. He took over a manly side that had been going totally $hithouse for sometime. His first year 2004 was not great but he took over a complete wreck, but every year after there was constant improvement. 2005 they made the finals and finished 8th, 2006 finished 5th, 2007 made GF and 2008 premiers. Always improvement happening, while on the other hand with Smiffy it is going in the opposite direction, Smiffy and Son are wrecking our progress!!

I could not agree anymore with you Mickey when you say Smiffy should hand the reins over to Taylor for next year!!

News to hand, just heard on ch10 news that Bellamy won't rule out the possibility of coaching the warriors next year even though he is contracted to the storm. After hearing this it sounds like there would have to be a chance to get Bellamy for us next year!! If we have any sense we will go all out to get Bellamy for next year!!! Get Bellyache and we become an instant premiership contender!!!!!!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                      Here's looking at you, kid.

TRO IMO Bellamy would never come to ther Roosters & the Roosters would not chase him whilst Nick is the boss.

Bellamy would want total control which he knows he would not get at the Roosters.
The Roosters know that he would want total control but know that it is impossible whilst Nick is the boss.

On Des when I said instant I meant he didn't win a comp straight away but you are right he gradually built that team bettering it each year.

If Nick truly does have the Roosters bests interests at heart, then getting Bellamy asap should be his number 1 priority no matter what!!

Fair enough about Des too mate, if you meant instant success as in what Sticky did with us winning a comp first year than you are right! What Des did at manly and now the dogs has been outstanding! Bellamy can do the same thing for us!!

Nick's interest are all about him before his interest in the Roosters.

TRO what you are saying is right but IMO it wont happen, Bellamy couldn't work with Nick's interference.
Again only my opinion but I couldn't see Bellamy being told who to pick & who is captain.

Is that why he's poured so much money into the club for so many years with very little return?
